Buddy Matthews being escorted out of his match on last week's AEW Collision raised concerns about his well-being. However, a recent report suggests that contrary to belief, the spot involving the former WWE star was planned in advance.
Matthews, alongside his House of Black stablemates, Malakai Black and Brody King took on the team of Juice Robinson, Austin, and Colten Gunn on Collision. Mid-way during the match, Buddy Matthews climbed up the top rope to perform a Meteora on Robinson. However, he ended up landing on his knee, which resulted in him being taken off to the back while the match was in progress.
As expected, the spot went viral on social media, with many expressing their concerns for Matthews and wondering if he would be sidelined from action. Now, a report from Fightful Select, suggests that the spot wasn't a botch but was planned.

It remains to be seen if this results in Buddy Matthews showing up soon on AEW TV or if it was meant to write him off for the foreseeable future.
Rhea Ripley on her friendly fights with her boyfriend and AEW star Buddy Matthews
A few months back on Logan Paul's ImPaulsive podcast, Ripley spoke about how she and Buddy Matthew often engaged in fun physical fights. The former Women's World Champion recalled an incident when the AEW star had locked her in a triangular chokehold and how she managed to free herself from it.
"He [Buddy Matthews] put me in some sort of submission....I think it was a triangle.....He put me in it and was like, ‘just tap.’ No! 'just tap', No! He slowly got tighter. And like his manhood was on the line. So he slowly got tighter. I was like, No! It got to the point where he got so tired, he had to sort of let go a little, and that’s where I overpowered him and I got out of it and pinned him to the ground," she revealed.
Rhea Ripley, too, is currently away from action after she injured her arm on WWE RAW after WrestleMania 40.
