Hologram has been out of action for a few months, but he could be on the verge of returning. A new report has shed light on the status of the lucha sensation.
The masked star, originally known as Aramis, joined All Elite Wrestling earlier this year. After several weeks of cryptic vignettes, he made his debut and immediately wowed fans with his blazing speed and acrobatic artistry. His persona and presentation are reportedly the brainchild of Tony Khan, who had dreamed the character up years before but had never found the right talent to carry out his vision.
Hologram suffered an ankle injury at WrestleDream in October, which has sidelined him ever since. However, according to the Wrestling Observer, he could be ready to make his comeback soon. The report notes that he has been at home with his wife as she prepared to give birth, but that is now done and he's seemingly ready to return imminently.
If that's the case, the young star may have already recovered from his ankle injury, which means AEW fans could see him back in action very soon.
Hologram apologizes to fans after AEW WrestleDream injury
Hologram managed to defeat The Beast Mortos at AEW WrestleDream, but an ankle injury sustained during the match put him out of action for months afterward. This was especially unfortunate because the masked star was scheduled to compete in a match outside Tony Khan's company, and he had to cancel.
He and Mortos were set to clash again for GALLI Lucha Libre on October 27, but a visit to the doctor derailed that plan. Hologram took to Facebook shortly after to apologize to his fans:
"I would be with you all if it were up to me, but that is not the case per advice from the medics, so I will have to postpone that match against The Beast Mortos. The slightly good news is that I won’t be out for that long, just about two weeks. I will try to heal up as soon as I can so I can bring a great spectacle for all of you and be a worthy champion. A hug from The Musketeer of The Air."
The timing of Hologram's injury and the birth of his child has kept him out of action since October, but AEW fans will surely welcome him back with open arms. It seems only a matter of time before the 25-year-old will take to the air again.
