Massive update on Sammy Guevara's AEW future amid absence - Reports

Former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara is reportedly returning to AEW TV in the coming weeks. The Spanish God has been out of action since February 2024.

At an episode of Rampage in February, Sammy Guevara competed in a No Disqualifications Match against Jeff Hardy. During the match, Guevara botched a Shooting Star Press and landed on Hardy's face which led to the veteran suffering a broken nose. Sammy was suspended following the botch and has been absent from TV ever since.

Xero News recently reported that Sammy Guevara is set to return at Blood and Guts and form a tag team with a veteran who is heavily rumored to be Dustin Rhodes.

Kevin Nash doesn't get why AEW suspended Sammy Guevara

The former TNT Champion became the talk of the town after his suspension in February. Sammy Guevara has been suspended multiple times before as well.

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash reacted to Guevara's suspension and questioned how Darby Allin was doing risky maneuvers without getting suspended. Here is what the veteran said on his Kliq THIS podcast.

"I just look at it and I say, man... it's really hard of them to adhere to this concussion protocol when Darby f*****g catapults himself from Mount Olympus through glass onto a concrete floor, and that's OK. Like, the next thing it's going to be, like... they're going to have one of those pre-fab homes under the f*****g ring, they're going to pull that out and put it together but not the roof, and then they're going to catapult into that and they can fight with a camera over the top of the house, from room to room, through the walls. It will be interesting to see how the company will insert The Spanish God back into its creative plans once he makes his return to AEW.
