The latest medical update on former AEW World Champion MJF has surfaced. After missing a few months due to recuperating from injuries, it seems the 28-year-old star will reportedly miss more time.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman has not been seen since Worlds End pay-per-view back in December. The same night, he lost his title to Samoa Joe and was attacked by The Undisputed Kingdom. He has been on a hiatus to deal with some injuries he suffered during his title reign.
Jason Solomon of the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast talked about hearing some reports saying that MJF was not successful in remedying his injuries through physical therapy and may be forced to undergo surgery. WrestlePurists confirmed this but reported that he had already undergone shoulder surgery.
He was planning for a return last month but instead met up with Tony Khan to discuss creative plans. As of this point, Friedman's return is up in the air, and all creative plans for him have been pushed back.

Tony Khan recently talked about MJF returning to AEW
During the media scrum for AEW Dynasty, Tony Khan was asked about the status of the former World Champion and his return to the promotion.
Khan talked about how Friedman's return would surely have a positive impact on the company. He was looking forward to having him back and how he'd add to the great things happening within the company currently.
"Well, yes, uhh MJF, one of the biggest stars in AEW, we haven't seen him in recent months, and I would love to get MJF back here soon. Sooner or later, or like really soon, you know, we've got so many great things happening and I think that would be really added if he's one of our great wrestlers and we've had great things happening in AEW lately, you know."
Currently, Adam Cole, whom The Salt of the Earth was supposed to feud with, has also been recuperating from his injuries.
However, similar to what was seen at Dynasty, the former NXT Champion may be closer to a full recovery, as he was already out of his walking boot, crutches, and wheelchair.
