AEW has reportedly filed an interesting trademark that is said to be related to one of their current shows. This hints at one of the promotion's next big moves to close out the month. This would be a special episode of Dynamite.
The Tony Khan-led promotion often holds special episodes for its weekly show, building them to be pay-per-view level but shown on national television. Last month, they held Grand Slam week and had a stacked match card. Before that, they held Blood and Guts, another highly anticipated special episode featuring a unique match type that is also done annually.
AEW has filed a trademark for Fright Night Dynamite. Based on the name, this seems to be another special episode that the promotion wishes to hold. The trademark mentioned that this was meant for a professional wrestling event, one that is an ongoing program. The October 30 edition of Dynamite in Cleveland seems to be the probable date for this, a day before Halloween.
"Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling." AEW previously filed for another trademark regarding an upcoming show
Previously, AEW also filed another major trademark, this time about a potential new program. This would be Shockwave.
Last month, it was revealed that the promotion had filed for the trademark AEW Shockwave, but Tony Khan has yet to make an official statement regarding this.
Several reports have suggested that this was set to be the company's new weekly show and one that could replace Rampage. It has also yet to be revealed whether this remains a one-hour show or a different direction could be taken for the new weekly event.
It seems that the promotion has been actively building up a new era for them following their new TV deal, and other big surprises could come to light soon.
