A top AEW Champion is reportedly injured after the star won the championship last week. The name being discussed is Killswitch. He and the rest of Patriarchy won the AEW World Trios Championship after defeating the Bang Bang Gang on Collision.
The former Luchasaurus has been aligned with Christian for some time now. The star first burst onto the scene as part of a tag team with Jungle Boy Jack Perry. The stars even won the Tag Team Championship in WWE. Since Cage's heel turn, Luchasaurus was monikered as Killswitch and has been aligned with the former WWE star.
The Patriarchy has been dominating the trio's division for weeks. First, they took out the House of Black's Buddy Matthews, so that the group could not challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship. Malakai Black's team was one of the top contenders for the championship. Also, the Bang Bang Gang was forced to vacate the title as Jay White was sidelined due to injury.

After Christian Cage and company took the House of Black out of the equation, the Patriarchy and Bang Bang Gang were slated to face each other on Collision's main event for the vacant Trios Championship. The latter faction had replaced Jay White with Juice Robinson. In the bout, Patriarch cleverly picked up the victory, winning the championship.

Unfortunately, as per a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Killswitch sustained a partially torn bicep. However, he is expected to work through the injury.
AEW star Killswitch nearly walked out on Christian Cage
On a June 2024 edition of Dynamite, Christian Cage and his group appeared on stage to celebrate Father's Day.
While both Nick Wayne and Killswitch presented their gifts to the Patriarch, Christian loved the former's gift and responded "okay" when Killswitch presented his. The masked star then tried to walk away furiously from the ring, but Cage stopped him.
The veteran later cut an intense promo and called out Tony Khan and the entire promotion.
It will be interesting to see if the faction has to vacate the title if Killswitch is unable to defend it.
