A popular AEW tag team could make their WWE debut soon. They are reportedly set to debut directly on the main roster.

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) were one of the most entertaining tag teams in All Elite Wrestling. Their innovative offense earned them a huge fan following in the ring as well as numerous championships around the world. They had some legendary matches in the Jacksonville-based promotion against the likes of The Young Bucks, FTR, and Private Party.

Despite their early success in the company, the last year hasn't been too kind to the duo. They have been a victim of some poor booking decisions which has led to the circulation of the rumors about Penta and Fenix being WWE-bound.

PWNexus is now reporting that The Lucha Bros. will directly debut on the main roster upon arrival in the Stamford-based promotion. This is especially important to note since many new signees have to first dip their toes in NXT before making it to the main roster.

AEW President Tony Khan won't be granting early release to AEW star amid WWE rumors

Before The Lucha Bros. join WWE, they will first have to get out of their AEW contracts. While Penta el Zero Miedo's contract ends in September, it is important to note that Rey Fenix still has more time left in his deal. This could be further extended by Tony Khan if he chooses to add more time to make up for the injury Fenix suffered earlier in his deal.

Ibou of WrestlePurists recently confirmed that Tony Khan won't be granting an early release to Rey Fenix but he will not add any extra time to his contract either.

"Yeah. Rey Fenix is still under contract with AEW, and Tony won't be giving an early release. And it does not look like he is going to add injury time," he claimed.

It will be interesting to see if The Lucha Brothers will make an immediate impact if and when they arrive in WWE.
