Former AEW Women's World Champion Britt Baker was recently suspended from AEW and recent reports have revealed the reason behind the move. She has been involved in a heated rivalry with TBS Women's Champion Mercedes Mone on Dynamite.
Britt Baker made her shocking return to AEW at the Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View to kickstart her rivalry with Mercedes Mone. The D.M.D competed in her first match since September 2023 on the special Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite on July 24th against Hikaru Shida and has not been seen on television since.
In a recent report by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was revealed that Britt Baker has been suspended due to making some controversial comments about MJF and his girlfriend Alicia Atout backstage during the July 17th edition of Dynamite. Alicia heard the comments and told MJF which led to Friedman directly confronting Britt Baker. A disciplinary committee further investigated the matter on July 24th and most of them were sympathetic towards the former Women's Champion.
Britt Baker is currently scheduled to face Mercedes Mone for the TBS Women's Championship at the All In PPV on August 25 in Wembley Stadium. The promotion has stayed quiet about the recent Britt Baker situation and it will be interesting to see how it affects the TBS Women's Title match at the pay-per-view.
