AEW president Tony Khan will welcome a released WWE Superstar to All Elite Wrestling next week, and there is a particular reason why he would be excited about it.
On the October 20th edition of AEW Rampage, Lucha Libre legend Mistico will make his debut for All Elite Wrestling against Rocky Romero in a match for "Mexico's Pound for Pound Crown" as the match stems from the two men's performances for CMLL.
WWE fans will remember Mistico from his days as the original Sin Cara, the first signing that Triple H pushed for in 2011, wrestling for the company for three years before being released in 2014.

Mistico has since reclaimed his status as one of the biggest stars in Mexico, a status that he had a vice-like grip on before he signed with WWE. This is why, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan is very excited to have the masked luchador on AEW TV as he was a big fan of his back in the day.
"Probably the craziest Mistico trivia is that when Tony Khan was in his early 20s, Mistico was one of his favorite wrestlers. Even crazier is that Mistico’s U.S. debut as Sin Cara in WWE was in Champaign, IL, and of course Khan was at the show. Khan also sent a house show report on that card to the Observer."
Tony Khan has recently announced a lot of big matches for upcoming AEW events
Following the recent "Title Tuesday" edition of AEW Dynamite, there are a lot of exciting directions for many members of the All Elite Wrestling roster, and Tony Khan has recently revealed some of them.
On the upcoming episode of Dynamite on October 18th, Switchblade Jay White will go one-on-one with Penta El Zero Miedo for the first-time ever, with White getting himself ready for his AEW World Championship match against MJF at Full Gear.
Samoa Joe will also return to action in AEW as he is set to take on Willie Mack for the ROH Television Champion on the October 14th edition of Collision, which also features a TNT Championship match between Christian Cage and Bryan Danielson.
