A top AEW star is favored to win the 2025 Royal Rumble. This is the biggest hint that he could be making his WWE debut.
Ricky Starks' AEW booking for the past year has been bizarre. He was once promoted as one of the promotion's top stars. He won the FTW Championship, even beat CM Punk, won the Owen Hart Cup, and also the AEW World Tag Team Championship. However, his career spiraled downwards after losing the title. He has not appeared on AEW TV since March 2024 leaving fans puzzled about his sudden absence.
Ricky Starks has also denied all speculation that he was injured or is leaving All Elite Wrestling for WWE. Recently, Starks has started competing outside the Jacksonville-based promotion. However, there is no word on when he will compete in Tony Khan's promotion.

Jerry Lynn commented on Ricky Starks' comments about AEW
A couple of weeks ago, Ricky Starks showed up at a GCW show and cut a promo expressing his frustration over sitting at home and doing nothing. He was then booked to face Matt Cardona in a match for the promotion but that match was cancelled due to Tony Khan's intervention. Since then, it has seemed like there was some tension between The Absolute One and his employer.
During a discussion with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Jerry Lynn said that wrestlers back in the day would leak stuff to the dirt sheets to be talked about more favorably in their matches but they do it to seek attention nowadays.
"I can't speak for him and why he did it, but years ago when it was just the sheets, a lot of the guys would leak info and stuff so they would get talked more favorably in their matches. Like, that's why, and now, I think a lot of it is getting attention," Jerry Lynn said. [H/T: WrestlingInc]
