A top AEW star's contract with the company reportedly expired earlier today. The star in question is none other than the former WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy.
The Charismatic Enigma signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2022. However, many feel the veteran had an underwhelming run in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Jeff Hardy was last seen competing against Sammy Guevara in a No Disqualification Match on AEW Rampage in February 2024. During the match, Hardy broke his nose due to a botched Shooting Star Press by Guevara and has been out of action ever since.
On X (fka Twitter), Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Jeff Hardy's contract with Tony Khan's promotion has expired and he's officially a free agent now.
"Jeff Hardy's AEW contract has expired and he's a free agent as of today. Do you want to see one more Hardy Boyz run?"

AEW veteran Jim Ross recently compared Jeff Hardy to Darby Allin
Former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy is one of the most unique performers in professional wrestling. AEW star Darby Allin is often compared to The Charismatic Enigma due to their similar styles in the squared circle.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross briefly compared Jeff Hardy and Darby Allin and explained the uniqueness of both performers. Ross further praised Darby for following his dreams and getting big opportunities in All Elite Wrestling.
"Homegrown talent stepping up and working main event style matches. Example, Darby Allin. Darby's style in the ring might not be everybody's cup of tea. However, he's unique, he's different. He kind of has Jeff Hardy in him from back in the day, and I don't have any problem with that. I think some of these young cats have come into their own. It's heartwarming, they want to live their dreams. I know we hear that a lot and it's cliche as hell, but they want to live their dreams, and now working on these pay-per-views gives them the opportunity to do so. I'm a big fan of living your dream," Jim Ross said. [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Former world champion Jeff Hardy has reportedly departed from All Elite Wrestling as of today. It will be interesting to see if the veteran returns to WWE or joins his brother in TNA, where Matt is reportedly working on a 'per-appearance' deal.
