A top AEW star was rumored to leave Tony Khan's roster soon. But now he's expected to serve more time in the promotion, unlike Andrade who reportedly exploited loopholes to get himself out of the company.

Rey Fenix's contract was coming up short soon. According to the rumors, he was ready to jump ship from AEW to WWE, alongside his real-life brother Penta, whose contract was also ending shortly.

However, he missed almost a year due to his injuries. Therefore, Tony Khan has added the injury clause to his deal and extended it further, thereby legally tying him to the company for a few more months.

Rey's current status has been a major discussion among the fans. A fan even suggested he create trouble on social media and get himself fired from the Jacksonville-based company.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Reacting to this, Ibou of WrestlePurists cleared Rey Fenix can't do so for some reason. He also disclosed that Andrade exploited loopholes to leave AEW as he was not happy with his situation in the Jacksonville-based company. Ibou tweeted the following from his private account;

"He could certainly make it messy but it wouldn't help his cause any. Andrade exploited legal loopholes to leave, but in Fenix's case, there's nothing he can do."

Joey Janela advises Rey Fenix to get in a fight with Jack Perry to get fired from AEW

Joey Janela was the latest to comment on Rey Fenix's status in AEW. Rey has no intention of staying with the Tony Khan-led company, just like his brother Penta. Therefore, The Bad Boy suggested that he should get in a backstage fight with Jack Perry and get himself fired from All Elite Wrestling.

"My Advice is that Rey Fenix should get into a tussle with Jungle Boy in the Gorilla position," wrote Janela.

The same happened with The Best in the World CM Punk. Tony Khan fired him after his backstage brawl incident with Jungle Boy which took place at the All In PPV in 2023.
