Are WWE going to war with Tony Khan?

AEW president Tony Khan has certainly had a lot to say following the recent ratings war between Dynamite and NXT, but some of his tweets have ruffled the feathers in World Wrestling Entertainment so much that they are reportedly willing to 'go to war.'

Following the announcement that NXT recorded a comfortable victory over AEW Dynamite in the ratings on October 10, Tony Khan seemingly took to Twitter to cry and claim a small victory of his own.

He pointed out that despite being beaten by NXT, the show didn't garner over one million viewers at any point in the night, meaning that the long-standing streak of The Undertaker and John Cena being on shows only watched by over one million people has come to an end.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

It's safe to say that people within WWE have taken this comment to heart more than most, with Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter claiming that people in World Wrestling Entertainment saw Tony Khan's comments as a 'declaration of war.'

"Those in WWE did contact us very quickly after that post with the idea that it was like they saw it as a declaration of war by still discussing the subject. Of course that declaration really dates back to January 2019."

Should Tony Khan step away from the keyboard?

Being able to see the inner thoughts of a billionaire is something that wasn't possible during the Attitude or Ruthless Aggression eras of WWE due to no social media being prominent. However, in the modern age, people like Tony Khan are free to splurge whatever thoughts they have to the entire world, completely forgetting that some of these messages might be seen in a negative light.

This is why, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, some people within AEW actually want Tony Khan to step away from social media for a while, as his recent outbursts have not been well received.

Tony not only called out NXT for not getting over one million viewers, but he also poked fun at both Triple H and Shawn Michaels for being bald, and Vince McMahon for the abundance of bad things he has allegedly done in his career.
