WWE Monday Night RAW's ring announcer Samantha Irvin shockingly departed from the Triple H-led promotion last week. Many believed she was AEW-bound but recent reports have provided an interesting update on her future.
Samantha Irvin signed with WWE in 2021 and made an important announcement about her future in the promotion this past week. RAW's former ring announcer said that she was leaving the company to focus on other things and made it clear that she has no plans of continuing as a ring announcer.
According to a recent report by Fightful Select, sources within the Stamford-based promotion expected that Samantha Irvin would be made an offer from All Elite Wrestling. However, she's been clear about not wanting to continue her career as a ring announcer in professional wrestling.
"Samantha Irvin had given notice well before last Monday, and WWE had prepared by having Lilian Garcia there. Even though last week AEW and WWE sources expected Samantha to be made an offer by AEW, she's made it clear she isn't interested in ring announcing."
Vince Russo claims anybody can be a ring announcer after Samantha Irvin's WWE departure
Vince Russo is a former lead writer in the Stamford-based promotion and knows the wrestling business well. After Samantha Irvin's departure as Monday Night RAW's announcer, many, including Vince Russo, have reacted to the shocking exit.
In the recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Coach and Bro Wrestling show, WCW veteran Vince Russo claimed that it's easy to find another name to replace Samantha Irvin as anybody can do ring announcing.
"If they've aced what they've done and they're really good at it and really they want to do more, I give them that opportunity to do more," Vince said before adding that it's easy to find another person to fill her shoes. "Quite frankly, anybody can be a ring announcer."
Samantha Irvin was replaced by a returning Lilian Garcia on Monday Night RAW. It will be interesting to see if Samantha joins Ricochet in All Elite Wrestling.
