WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently sparked the possibility of Shane McMahon heading to AEW and the news has been making rounds on social media ever since. McMahon's last match was at WrestleMania 39 where he tore his quad.
A few weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks challenged Team AEW for this year's Blood and Guts match, which is set to air on the July 24 episode of Dynamite. The Bucks attempted to get Swerve Strickland as the fifth member of their team against the potential babyface team that is yet to be assembled.
Shane McMahon has not been seen in the wrestling ring since last year's WrestleMania. While there is no official word on McMahon coming to the Jacksonville-based company, the chances of it happening are quite low. However, the possibility of his in-ring return might still be on the table as the veteran has taken huge risks in the entirety of his career.
Introducing him to All Elite Wrestling as a part of Team AEW in the Blood and Guts match could occur if McMahon decides to sign with the promotion. AEW CEO Tony Khan could also make him an on-screen authority figure in the company.

Introduced by Bryan Danielson as a part of Team AEW
At last month's Double or Nothing pay-per-view, The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, Nicholas & Matthew Jackson) successfully defeated Team AEW (Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, FTR) in an Anarchy in the Arena match. The American Dragon may seek revenge and announce his participation in the Blood and Guts match.
Bryan Danielson and Shane McMahon have a history together from their time in the WWE. Bryan was named the General Manager of SmackDown Live whereas Shane served as the Commissioner of the blue brand in 2016. Introducing Shane O'Mac as the final entrant in the Blood and Guts match against The Elite could get a huge reaction from the crowd. McMahon can also do some high-flying spots in the match as the veteran is no stranger to high-risk.
Shane McMahon can be protected in the Blood and Guts match
The former WWE Hardcore Champion has done some of the most brutal stuff in the squared circle. However, the age factor might stop him from performing the risky maneuvers in All Elite Wrestling.
The perfect way to bring in and protect Shane McMahon in All Elite Wrestling could be the Blood and Guts match where the fans are interested in seeing more than one wrestler. The inclusion of Darby Allin and potentially Swerve Strickland could drive the focus away from McMahon if the veteran does not want to do any heavy lifting and high-risk spots.
Tony Khan could make Shane McMahon the commissioner of AEW
Shane McMahon is no stranger to running professional wrestling shows. He has run Monday Night RAW and was the commissioner of SmackDown Live from 2016 to 2018. Introducing a strong authority figure like Shane in All Elite Wrestling could do wonders for Tony Khan as McMahon knows how to handle business with heel superstars.
While the news of Shane McMahon's possible arrival to All Elite Wrestling has been the main focus on social media, the veteran has stayed quiet on the matter. It will be interesting to see if Shane addresses the possibility in the upcoming weeks.
