WWE Veteran Shane McMahon is reportedly expected to join AEW after multiple teases and hints. He has been one of the top minds in pro wrestling as he worked behind the scenes in WWE for many years. He was seen with Tony Khan and clicked a picture with Young Bucks recently, which added fuel to the rumors.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Mone has been sitting at the top of the AEW women's roster since her arrival. She has been a double champion and has joined forces with Kamille. Before becoming All Elite, the CEO was a top star in WWE as well. She is a former NXT Champion, RAW Women's Champion, SmackDown Women's Champion, and WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

While there is no concrete report of Shane McMahon's imminent arrival in AEW, fans believe he will eventually become AEW-bound. He could align himself with the current TBS Champion and could be secretly working with her to make his way into the Jacksonville-based promotion. The duo could then also form their own faction in the promotion.

Recently, Mercedes Mone revealed that she wants Shane O'Mac to join AEW to complete unfinished business as he had to leave pro wrestling. She claimed that the entire roster would welcome him with open arms. Back in July, the duo were reportedly seen together at an airport in New York.

Could this be a hint towards his imminent arrival? Only time will tell. Moreover, there are many similarities between their careers.

Mercedes Mone and Shane McMahon quit WWE due to resembling reasons

Mercedes Mone shocked everyone when she walked out of WWE in 2022 due to major creative differences. She also claimed that the promotion tried to stop her from doing Hollywood projects. Whereas in AEW, she stated that Tony Khan has been very helpful to her regarding outside ventures.

Similar to the CEO, Shane McMahon initially left WWE in 2009 as he was having creative disputes with his father. The entire story is well documented in Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon, episode five, Family Business. Shane claimed that he had to leave the company as he was jeopardizing his relationship Vince McMahon due to creative issues. However, it should be noted that Shane did return to the promotion in 2016.

Both the stars leaving WWE due to creative differences could bring them together. Also, Tony Khan has always been vocal about providing flexibility in terms of creativity.

Shane McMahon wanted to stay in the pro wrestling industry

In the Mr. McMahon docuseries, it is evident that Shane wasn't eager to leave WWE but had to; due to various reasons. With AEW being presented as the competition brand, Shane could easily become a top executive in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Tony Khan's picture with the latter has led to many fans believing in the potential debut of Boy Wonder. It will be interesting to see if he actually becomes All Elite.

Mercedes Mone talks about Shane McMahon's potential return to the business

The reigning TBS Champion revealed that she has watched the Mr. McMahon documentary. She recently shared her feeling after watching the docuseries about Shane McMahon's departure from WWE

Mercedes Mone said that she would be sad if the WWE veteran didn't return to the industry he loves.

"It just seems like Shane belongs in the wrestling business. I admit if he doesn't come back to wrestling, it will make me sad for him. I know what it's like to be removed from what you love and how sad it made me. I imagine he feels the same way," she said.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Shane McMahon.
