2024 is about to come to an end and AEW has seen its fair share of captivating moments throughout the calendar year. If there is one thing that anyone can't hold against the company, it is the fact that there is no shortage of jaw-dropping moments.
Over the course of this year, there have been superstars like Darby Allin who have been synonymous with producing moments that the fans will not forget. Be it him going through glass at Revolution or Sting coming back from retirement to save him from the Young Bucks at All In, he is in the thick of it all.
Add to that, the rivalry between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page and the heel turn of Jon Moxley, and there have been many such enthralling incidents.
In this article, we will see the top five jaw-dropping AEW moments of 2024.

#5. Darby Allin landing on glass
This took place during Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution. The team of Sting and Darby Allin were defending their tag team title against The Young Bucks.
During the match, Darby Allin pulled off something shocking as he was trying to execute a move on the Bucks who were on a pane of glass. He climbed on top of the ladder and jumped only for the Bucks to move away. Allin then landed on the glass, shocking the fans.
#4. Jon Moxley choking Bryan Danielson
This was one of the hardest things to watch as an AEW fan. Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley were a part of the Blackpool Combat Club and things were going well. Bryan was the world champion and it all looked rosy until the Blackpool Combat Club turned on him.
As that happened, Jon Moxley took a plastic bag and choked out the former WWE star in what was a hard visual. It was so bad that AEW pulled the video from all its social media pages.
#3. Adam Copeland jumping off the steel cage
Adam Copeland is one of the most daring wrestlers out there. The feats he has done over the years in WWE were a sight to behold, both the good and the bad.
However, he may have bitten off more than he can chew at Double or Nothing during his match against Malakai Black. He attempted an elbow drop off the top of the cage but changed his mind midway and that meant he botched the move. He ended up fracturing his leg and he is now out with an injury.
The WWE Hall of Famer has a broken tibia and is expected to return sometime in 2025.
#2. AEW President Tony Khan was attacked by The Elite
Tony Khan never took to the ring even once as the president of AEW. Many held that against him and compared him to Vince McMahon saying Tony was not as brave.
That changed in April as he was attacked by Jack Perry and The Elite. He put himself in harm's way and took a beating and has not been seen on TV ever since.
#1. Hangman Page burning down Swerve Strickland's house
Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland’s rivalry over the course of this year had a lot of intense moments. Some were so bad that they even received considerable backlash from the wrestling community.
However, things went overboard a few months back when Page while cutting a promo in front of Strickland’s childhood home burnt it to the ground. That broke Strickland and the two were involved in another hard-hitting match after that.
