This week's AEW Dynamite episode will return to Salt Lake City, UT, and take place at Maverik Center on October 23. Fans might see Tony Khan breaking up top duo Max Caster and Anthony Bowens on the show.
The Acclaimed was formed in 2020 and it was Khan's idea to put the two stars together in a tag team. They are one of the most popular tag teams in the Jacksonville-based promotion. They have won the World Tag Team Championship and the World Trios Championship with Billy Gunn in the past.
It is no secret Max Caster is a controversial star. He has found himself in the middle of yet another controversy after he supported Drew Gulak's recent debacle. Earlier this year in April, Ronda Rousey accused Gulak of misconduct. The latter referenced the incident in a storyline with Masha Slamovich at an indie event on Sunday.
Reacting to the promo, The Platinum star offered his support to Gulak, which was criticized by many fans on social media. He quickly deleted the post following severe backlash from the fans, but the buzz hasn't died down. As a repercussion of his behavior, Tony Khan could break up The Acclaimed, take Caster off TV for some time, and give Anthony Bowens a singles run in the promotion.
Max Caster doesn't want Shelton Benjamin in AEW
Last week on Wednesday Night Dynamite, Shelton Benjamin made a successful in-ring debut against Lio Rush. The fans were thrilled to see him in action and demanded to see more of him inside the ring against other stars. Max Caster didn't like fans fawning over him and stated he would like to see The Gold Standard leave AEW.
Benjamin made his debut on the fifth-anniversary episode of Dynamite. He is set to face Sammy Guevara in singles action this week on AEW's flagship show.
