A WWE Hall of Famer could be brought in by AEW President Tony Khan to stop reigning world champion Jon Moxley and his faction. The legend has been an integral part of All Elite Wrestling in the past.
Jon Moxley and his revamped Blackpool Combat Club faction, which consists of Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and now Wheeler Yuta, have been wreaking havoc in Tony Khan's promotion for the past two months. Moxley also became a four-time AEW World Champion at WrestleDream. Nonetheless, Tony Khan could bring in WWE Hall of Famer Sting to stop The Deathrider and Co.
While many, including former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson, have failed to stop the atrocities committed by Moxley and the BCC, a legend like Sting could be vital in doing the needful. In order to keep the faction in check, Tony Khan could bring in The Icon as an on-screen authority figure and stop The Purveyor of Violence from taking over the company.
Sting recently revealed that he had signed a multi-year contract with AEW. The Vigilante retired from the squared circle at Revolution 2024. Stinger appeared at the All In event, where the 65-year-old saved his former tag team partner, Darby Allin, from The Elite.
The Icon as an authority figure has been on the wish list of many fans, and his dealings with Moxley and the BCC could produce some great television. However, the angle is speculative at this point.
Jon Moxley recently said AEW stars work for him now
In an intense backstage promo on the Dynamite after WrestleDream 2024, Jon Moxley stated his honest thoughts on the current state of AEW, declaring that he would "burn down the forest to plant a new one!"
The reigning AEW World Champion also announced that the people in the company worked for him now.
"I hate what AEW has become. Egos outta control; celebrating when there's no need to celebrate; partying when there's no need for dancing and partying—I cannot stand it anymore. I will burn down the forest to plant a new one. I'm not sentimental. We will do what has to be done. We can see a better future, and we will make it happen. What is the new paradigm? It's very simple. You work for me now," Moxley said.
Only time will tell who will be able to stop Moxley's reign of terror.
