AEW star Miro has been the talk of the town and Tony Khan may even try to keep The Redeemer employed in his promotion. Khan could bring Miro back to the company by pairing him up with Wardlow who's situation is similar to the former WWE star.
The recent reports revealed that Miro has asked for his release from AEW seemingly due to frustrations with his creative direction within the promotion. Another report was of former TNT Champion Wardlow and it was said that the company currently has no plans for Mr. Mayhem despite him potentially being cleared to compete.
Wardlow and Miro are two of the best heavyweight wrestlers on the All Elite roster. Tony Khan can pair both men as a Tag Team which could allow them to tear down the All Elite Wrestling tag team division and eventually lead to claiming the World Tag Team Championship. This change of scenery can allow both Wardlow and Miro to have a creative direction to look forward to and possibly fix their careers in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
Dutch Mantell claims Tony Khan doesn't want to use Miro in AEW
Miro signed with AEW in 2020 and managed to become a huge star, elevating the TNT Championship in the process. However, his rise quickly declined as The Redeemer fell victim to poor booking and has been off television since last year's Worlds End Pay-Per-View.
In the recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk podcast, Dutch Mantell blamed Tony Khan for Miro's downfall in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The former WWE manager claimed that Khan doesn't want to use him on television and is willing to keep paying him for sitting at home.
"It's Tony Khan; that's the disconnect. He is not seeing him as the fans saw him. They try to make him something else, and you can't make anybody anything if you just take them off TV. So, you've got to lay the blame or fault at Tony Khan's feet, because if he wanted to do something with him, he would. Apparently, he doesn't, and I've got enough money to pay him to sit at home, and that's what he's been doing," Dutch Mantell said.
Miro's current AEW contract is reportedly set to expire in 2026. It will be interesting to see if the company grants him his release before it runs out.
