Tony Khan and a few others founded AEW in 2019. Initially, the company emerged as the perfect alternative to WWE. They were the talk of the town and their shows were attended by thousands of fans. They had healthy TV ratings, and their programs delivered every time. However, those days are long gone.

Now All Elite Wrestling is being criticized for various reasons by fans as well as veterans. The company has been struggling to fill seats in live programs and the weekly viewership numbers don't tell a happy story. Although they are now streaming on Max, conditions have not improved much.

WWE RAW recently premiered on Netflix. The Stamford-based company's hype is at an all-time high and they will certainly capitalise on it. However, Tony Khan might have a trick up his sleeve to cause serious damage to World Wrestling Entertainment by finally pulling the trigger and bringing in Shane McMahon.

Tony Khan would have a McMahon in his corner

Former SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon is perhaps one of the most recognized names in professional wrestling. He is the son of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Furthermore, in the late '90s and early 2000s, he played an important role in spreading the company's name worldwide.

Shane O Mac can also do his thing in the ring when he needs to and has held the WWF European and Hardcore Championships once each. In 2018, he won the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel. He has exceptional drawing power and throughout 2024, he was rumored to sign with All Elite Wrestling because he reportedly met with Tony Khan and a photo of them together went viral on social media.

The AEW CEO must sign the 54-year-old McMahon as soon as possible to do some damage to WWE's Netflix hype. Since he is the son of the Stamford-based company's founder, his signing with their biggest rivals would rock the wrestling world.

How could Tony Khan book Shane McMahon?

Shane McMahon is a daredevil in the squared circle. However, it could be detrimental to AEW if he wrestles regularly. Khan needs to book him as a manager or an on-screen authority figure. This way, he will certainly get a huge reception from the fans in attendance. From time to time, he could lock horns with talents in the company. However, it will be important for him to put young stars over. Or else, the purpose of his signing would be defeated.

Tony Khan could also add him to the Death Riders storyline. The 54-year-old could either oppose the dangerous faction or join hands with evil. Either way, it would make for some must-see television.

Booking McMahon this way would certainly get the world talking. Doing its best to divert the attention from World Wrestling Entertainment's recent achievements.

Shane McMahon could help Tony Khan make AEW a more global brand

Shane McMahon has years of experience in the wrestling business. He knows the ins and outs of the industry and Tony Khan will definitely benefit from his potential signing. Furthermore, with the former SmackDown Commissioner by his side, Khan would make several new and possibly valuable contacts.

McMahon's expertise and Khan's vision could take All Elite Wrestling to new global heights. It remains to be seen what the future holds for both, Khan and McMahon.
