It has been five years since AEW's inception. In its short history, the company has seen numerous ups and downs. Its roster has talents such as Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Britt Baker, MJF, and more. Additionally, over the years, Tony Khan has signed several former WWE stars like Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Bobby Lashley, Bryan Danielson, Mercedes Moné, etc.
All Elite Wrestling now stands as a juggernaut of the professional wrestling industry. However, it is widely believed that the company is going through a crisis. Ever since CM Punk's exit, its reputation has taken a blow. Furthermore, the viewership numbers have also declined. Tony Khan often finds himself in controversy, and the 42-year-old is in dire need of a savior.
We at Sportskeeda Wrestling believe that the company's savior is none other than The Best Bout Machine, Kenny Omega.

Kenny Omega could be AEW's answer to Roman Reigns
The way the Stamford-based promotion has booked Roman Reigns over the last few years is truly commendable. The OTC held the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for more than 1300 days. Defeating him was nearly impossible for several years. However, Cody Rhodes finally ended Roman's title reign earlier this year at WrestleMania XL.
Booking the Original Tribal Chief so strongly has not only made the 39-year-old a global star, it has also benefitted the Sports Entertainment juggernaut massively. AEW needs its own Roman Reigns, and there is nobody better than Kenny Omega to pull it off.
Omega has the personality, in-ring ability, and microphone skills to be a global star. He is one of the company's most successful names. The Cleaner is a one-time AEW World Champion, a one-time World Tag Team Champion, and a two-time World Trios Champion.
The 41-year-old is All Elite Wrestling's first and only Triple Crown Champion. Giving him the Roman Reigns treatment will certainly make sense. It is a gamble that has a high chance of coming off.
Kenny Omega to wrestle at Wrestle Dynasty
Kenny Omega is set to lock horns with reigning Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty. This will be the 41-year-old's first match since December 2023.
The last time Omega took part in an in-ring competition was against Ethan Page on Collision, when the latter was still signed to the Jacksonville-based company. After his in-ring return, Tony Khan could book the star in a high-profile program with reigning world champion Jon Moxley.
Why is Kenny Omega making his in-ring return against an NJPW star and not on AEW TV?
When it was announced that Kenny Omega would make his in-ring return against an NJPW star and not on AEW television, thousands of fans across the world were baffled. However, in a conversation with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the former AEW World Champion explained that he felt he owed the Japanese promotion for the growth of his career.
"Yeah, the way I look at it is a lot of people, not only in Japan but internationally, they never knew who I was until I did big things in New Japan. So I really do owe New Japan a gigantic thank you," Omega said. [H/T: Newsweek]
The Best Bout Machine is a one-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and a one-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion.
