A top AEW tag team has been rumored to leave the promotion and join WWE soon. Will All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan punish them for their potential decision to part ways with the company?

The top AEW stars in question are The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix). The duo has been with the Jacksonville-based promotion since its inception. Penta and Fenix are former World Tag Team and World Trios champions. The masked performers and PAC are collectively known as the Death Triangle. Khan may actually punish the Mexican talents if they are set to leave.

The Lucha Bros. are reportedly expected to jump ship to WWE after their current AEW contracts expire this year. If the reports are accurate, Tony Khan may not be pleased, as he will likely be losing two veterans of his promotion. Therefore, Khan can punish the former champions on their way out by altering their booking.

In their remaining tenure with AEW, The Lucha Bros. could be booked to lose their matches on Dynamite, Rampage, or Collision. Furthermore, the duo is not on the All In 2024 card as of now.

Penta, Fenix, and PAC were seemingly supposed to face The Patriarchy in a trios bout at the Wembley Stadium event. However, the creative team has now scrapped the contest, per a report. This could indicate that Khan might not have any significant plans for the duo in the coming weeks.

AEW stars have filed for major trademarks amid WWE rumors

AEW stars Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix have begun filing for trademarks amid rumors of their WWE move. Penta has reportedly filed for the terms 'Zero Miedo,' 'AN1MO,' and 'Cero Miedo.'

Furthermore, Rey Fenix has reportedly filed for terms such as 'Fuego' and 'King Fuego' under the MEXA KING brand. Both Penta and Fenix have already trademarked their current in-ring names.

As of now, The Lucha Bros. continue to perform in AEW, and only time will tell whether they are actually heading to the Stamford-based promotion after their contracts expire.
