Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
#3. Mercedes Moné and Sarath Ton file for divorce
Mercedes Moné and WWE costume designer, Sarath Ton, have decided to part ways after being together for eight years.
The former couple first met on the independent circuit back in 2010 and tied the knot in 2016 while formerly Sasha Banks was still with WWE. Last week, there were some rumblings about their break up.
Mercedes Moné didn't take long to confirm the rumors as she revealed that she had filed for divorce from her husband:
“Tomorrow, finally after a long, long time, I will be finally signing my divorce papers. And I am excited. I am happy. And for me, I am just ready to be free. I am ready to be free of not being afraid. And for so long, I have kept this secret because of how fast life has been going and so much that has been happening over wrestling and I just did not want the outside world to judge or say anything,” she said
The CEO and the wrestler-turned-costume designer have been separated for years now. Even though their relationship drifted apart, the duo remained friends through thick and thin.
As a matter of fact, they decided to keep their marriage separation a secret from Vince McMahon so that it wouldn't jeopardize formerly Sasha Banks' WrestleMania main event spot.
#2. Konnan blames female star for Cody Rhodes' AEW exit
Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan cited problems between Britt Baker and Brandi Rhodes as one of the reasons behind Cody Rhodes' AEW departure in 2022.
The WCW veteran also alleged that Tony Khan always took The Doctor's side.
"One of the reasons that Cody left amongst many was there was problems between Brandi and Britt....Tony always takes her side....you'll find out one day."
The American Nightmare has often remained silent on his exit from the Jacksonville-based promotion. But he recently revealed that his wife Brandi Rhodes was "hugely scapegoated" during her time in All Elite Wrestling.
The power couple reunited on WWE TV for the first time in years at WrestleMania XL during Cody Rhodes' entrance for his match against Roman Reigns.
#1. MJF and Britt Baker reportedly had a falling out
Britt Baker became the talk of the wrestling world last week when Mercedes Moné announced that The Doctor had been suspended (kayfabe) by The EVPs of the company.
But it wasn't a storyline suspension as rumors surfaced that AEW indeed punished Baker after she allegedly made a controversial comment about MJF and Will Ospreay, which Alicia Atout overheard and informed her boyfriend.
This led to The Salt of the Earth confronting The Doctor backstage after his hour-long match with Will Ospreay on the July 31 episode of Dynamite. As per the reports, Baker called Atout a "stupid f***ing b****" and wanted her out of the women's locker room.
The investigation led by HR decided to suspend Britt Baker since she stirred the issues. MJF, on the other hand, wasn't punished as many felt that he was merely defending his girlfriend in this situation.
Baker's suspension was lifted by Tony Khan last night on AEW Dynamite when she appeared via satellite to resume her storyline with Moné ahead of their TBS Championship match at All In.
