A former AEW champion could make her return after three months at the 2024 Full Gear pay-per-view on Saturday. She could ruin a major championship celebration planned for the event.
The top AEW star in question is "Timeless" Toni Storm. Ever since losing the Women's World Title to Mariah May on August 25 at All In 2024 in August, Storm has been off TV. She has been touring Japan and Mexico to compete against several prominent talents. Meanwhile, fans have been eagerly anticipating Storm's All Elite Wrestling return.
On the latest episode of Collision, the current AEW Women's World Champion, Mariah May, successfully retained her title against Anna Jay in a No DQ match. After her win, May was greeted by her friend, Mina Shirakawa. It was later announced that both stars would be present for a Championship Celebration at Full Gear.
The celebration segment of Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa could be the perfect opportunity for Toni Storm to make her highly anticipated return. The Timeless One has had some unfinished business with May since their match at All In 2024.
Storm is also friends with Mina Shirakawa, and the two teamed up with each other in STARDOM. It will be interesting to see whether Storm returns at Full Gear.
AEW Women's World Champion is ready to face Toni Storm again
AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May recently teased a rematch with Toni Storm after defeating her at All In 2024. On The Figure 4 podcast, Mariah said she would like to face Storm in a Glamour match.
"If Toni Storm ever resurrected, I don’t where she even is, and tried to touch me again, I would love to have a match, which means I could hurt her as much as possible. I would love to create some kind of Glamour match. I don’t know what that looks like."
It remains to be seen whether Toni Storm makes her return at Full Gear and confronts Mariah May.
