Wardlow could make his return at AEW Worlds End Pay-Per-View in order to help his former friend win his match. The 36-year-old star has been absent from TV for more than nine months.
Wardlow has been in AEW since 2020 but his run has been largely underwhelming despite immense fan support. Mr. Mayhem has not been seen on TV ever since his last match on Dynamite in March where he failed to capture the World Title from Samoa Joe. Nevertheless, he could return at Worlds End to help MJF win his match.
Wardlow has so much history with Maxwell Jacob Friedman as they both were together in The Pinnacle faction along with FTR and Shawn Spears a few years ago. After being a bodyguard for MJF, Wardlow turned on him in 2022.
Meanwhile, the former TNT Champion could return to reunite with MJF this Saturday at Worlds End as Max squares off against Adam Cole. Wardlow was also a part of Cole's Undisputed Kingdom faction but the two have not been seen together on TV ever since Cole returned to action.
Moreover, Mr. Mayhem rejoining Maxwell Jacob Friedman as his enforcer could be the best creative booking for him to finally return to TV. It will be interesting to see if one of the most anticipated returns takes place this Saturday.
Top AEW star keeps in contact with Wardlow
Former NXT Champion Adam Cole recently revealed that he is still in contact with Wardlow amid his absence. Speaking on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Cole said he thinks very highly of Wardlow:
"I still think very highly of Wardlow. I'm not sure exactly what he's doing or exactly what he's up to at the moment, but we still keep in contact."
Henceforth, it remains to be seen when Wardlow returns to TV and whether he chooses MJF's or Adam Cole's side upon his return.
