Cody Rhodes has had a lot on his plate following Kevin Owens turning on him. Should things get too out of hand, he could bring in a popular AEW star to be by his side. This would be Ricky Starks.
After teaming up with Roman Reigns at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event, Cody was met with an attack from KO following the PLE. Owens' heel turn has been teased for a while, and this included his reaction after losing to Rhodes at Bash in Berlin. Randy Orton is another person who has not been a fan of Owens' recent behavior, seeing as they were former tag team partners.
However, The Viper may not be completely innocent in all of this. He has a habit of betraying those he was close to when they least expected. He may be secretly aligned with Kevin Owens or pull off a swerve and be against both Owens and Rhodes, with him hinting at having plans to go after the Undisputed WWE Champion.
This could force Cody Rhodes to bring in Ricky Starks, someone he is close to. Starks has always supported him and has even been backstage at some WWE events. Later in the year, should he be given a chance to leave AEW, Cody could bring him in. Starks could be someone who would surely have The American Nightmare's back from the multiple threats to him.
Cody Rhodes is pre-occupied with another WWE Champion
Aside from dealing with Kevin Owens and the ever-looming Bloodline, Cody Rhodes has had to deal with another major WWE Champion, Gunther, who he will face at Crown Jewel on November 2.
Both world champions are set to clash for the Crown Jewel Championship. Last Friday on SmackDown, things finally got physical between them, with Cody taking the first shot after a heated exchange of words. This prompted Ludwig Kaiser to take action to help his comrade. Eventually, Randy Orton would come in to even the odds.
Despite Owens being suspended, he could get involved in Cody's affairs and cost him his match against Gunther. With Rhodes having a big target on his back, it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to find a way to deal with all of this.
