John Cena is widely regarded as one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time. At Money in the Bank this Saturday, he announced his retirement from in-ring action in 2025.
A veteran could make his comeback to stop The Cenation Leader from winning another championship ahead of his retirement. The legend being discussed is Ric Flair. He is known as a trailer blazer in the wrestling business and made huge contributions to the industry.
The Nature Boy signed with All Elite Wrestling in October 2023 as a gift to Sting, who was set to retire at Revolution 2024 in March. He was heavily involved in storylines before the Icon's farewell match. However, he hasn't been featured on AEW TV since March this year. As of now, no update on his contract is known.
At the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, John Cena surprised the world after he announced his farewell tour. He will be retiring in 2025 and wrestling various matches throughout the year. He said that The Show of Shows next year will be his final WrestleMania outing. During the post-show press conference, Cena answered several media questions and made revelations.
When asked about adding another title reign to his catalog, The Cenation Leader said he would compete for the championship only if he earned the opportunity by winning the Royal Rumble. For those who don't know, Ric Flair and John Cena are 16-time world champions.
Now that John Cena is talking about competing in a championship match, an insecure Ric Flair could interfere in the match and cost Cena the title match. This would prevent the latter from becoming a 17-time champion, keeping the record alive.

AEW star Ric Flair also sent him a message on X/Twitter and applauded Cena's friendship.
"What A Cool Moment! A True Friend Is Like A Four-Leaf Clover; Hard To Find & Lucky To Have! WOOOOO! @JohnCena," he said.
These are mere speculations, and only time will tell if Ric Flair will return to WWE to sabotage The Doctor of Thuganomics' 17th title win.
