Malakai Black's tenure with AEW is reportedly coming to an end. With Black seemingly set to be departing the company, there is a possibility of a WWE legend taking his place as the leader of the House of Black.

Adam Copeland, now going by the ring name Cope could be the one to take over the popular stable. The WWE Hall of Famer's last feud before suffering a devastating injury in May 2024 was against Malakai Black.

This led to a gruesome Barbed Wire Steel Cage match between them at Double or Nothing for the TNT Championship, which was held by Copeland at the time. Moreover, there were some interesting events that took place that night, hinting at the possibility of Cope succeeding Malakai Black as the leader of the House of Black.

One spot in the contest almost saw House of Black members Buddy Matthews and Brody King betray their leader and join forces with Adam Copeland. Moreover, Adam Copeland himself resonates with the darkness related to that of House of Black with his traces of the former WWE faction, The Brood. Copeland was also the founder of The Judgment Day during his time in WWE.

Malakai Black's reported exit from AEW opens the spot for Copeland to embrace his dark side once again and turn heel, assuming control of the stable and having a fresh direction for himself after returning from injury at the Worlds End pay-per-view. Although Will Ospreay claimed that Matthews and Brody did not need a leader on the last edition of Dynamite, the two stars could thrive under the leadership of the 11-time World Champion.

What is Adam Copeland's current focus in AEW?

While Adam Copeland becoming the leader of House of Black remains to be seen, the Rated-R Superstar has a different focus upon his return to the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Copeland has his sights set on the AEW World Championship currently held by Jon Moxley. He, alongside his allies, FTR, has been feuding with Moxley and his Death Riders faction since his return.

Furthermore, Copeland is expected to challenge Jon Moxley for the World Championship in the future. Therefore, the road to his first World Title in AEW could become more interesting if he turns to the dark side and has House of Black by his side.
