West Coast Eagles free agent Elliot Yeo has attracted some mouth-watering offers from rival clubs. Geelong and Essendon were among the clubs interested in Yeo last year but now, Adelaide are front runners for his signature if he doesn't renew his contract with the Waalitj Marawar.
Channel Seven’s Ryan Daniels posted on X/Twitter that Adelaide were willing to offer the star midfielder a deal as high as $2.7 million for three years and have structured it in a way that he gets $1.3 million in 2025 if he signs with them at the end of this season.
The Eagles, who were previously stalling, have also presented their offer to Yeo. After a two-year renewal, the 30-year-old picked up the insane form he's currently in. They, however, offer him much less money. Earlier in the month, there were reports claiming Yeo would have accepted a two-year, $1.1 million deal, which is significantly lower than what Adelaide have to offer.
Elliot Yeo returns as West Coast Eagles' resurgence continues
Elliot Yeo was available as the West Coast Eagles' resurgence continued and they shocked Naarm (Melbourne) in their Saturday night win. They won by a 35-point margin that sent the Demons to the seventh spot on the ladder.
Yeo picked up a groin injury in his 200th milestone match when they faced Essendon in round eight. He was subbed out and missed the game against Collingwood but was back in time to face Melbourne.
Yeo joined West Coast in 2014 from Brisbane Lions. He struggled with injuries for some years, playing just 37 games between 2020 and 2023. He is currently enjoying the best season of his career and he is averaging 23.6 disposals, 7.6 clearances, and 5.1 inside 50s this season
