AFL Rd 10 - Hawthorn v West Coast

The final match of the AFL Round 16 will see the West Coast Eagles host the Hawthorn Hawks at Optus Stadium on Sunday (June 30). It's a clash between two teams in the bottom half of the table but in contrasting form.

The Eagles with one win in five games are on a four-match losing streak, while the Hawks with one loss in five games have won four on the bounce. Looking at both team's form, one could foresee a win for the Hawthorn, but West Coast have been a handful at the Optus Stadium.

Adam Simpson's team have won three games this season, all at the Optus Stadium. In their last match, they lost 122-92 to Essensdon after a third-quarter collapse but will be fired up to secure a victory at home. The Eagles welcome back Harley Ried, which should boost their chances of a win.

Hawthorn, meanwhile, will look to continue from where they left off before a Round 15 bye. The Hawks had won four consecutive matches before the break, ending with a 48-point victory over Richmond at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

They are one of the most in-form teams in the league, having won six of their last seven games. The only blemish to their record was a one-point loss to Port Adelaide in Round 10.

However, it must be noted that Hawthorn are not good travelers, as they have struggled to win outside of Tasmania or Victoria, incurring 12 staright losses.

Thus, they could struggle to dominate West Coast in Perth despite their impeccable form. This clash could go either way, but an upset win for the Eagles is possible.
