Who is Domingo German’s wife Mara Vega? Yankees pitcher’s personal relationship was marred by domestic abuse allegations
New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German was suspended for 81 games in 2022 due to claims of domestic abuse against his wife Mara Vega.
Mara Vega was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She migrated to Akerley Campus in Canada to pursue her education and later joined the University of Florida.
She was honored with a Bachelor of Science degree in tourism management at the University of Florida. She shares two children with Domingo German, a daughter named Chrisgelyann German and a son named Gian. A. German.
Mara Vega’s relationship with Domingo was damaged by reports of domestic abuse. The incident took place at a charity event in September 2019 where German allegedly slapped his wife.
The incident did not end there as MLB sources stated that German became physically abusive towards his wife as he was intoxicated. She had to hide in her room, but did not call the police.
Despite all that has transpired, the couple are still together. German has since expressed regret for what transpired between him and his wife.
Domingo German's MLB career
Although Domingo German was suspended due to an incident of physical abuse in the past, he has built a good career for himself. He has a win-loss record of 26-22 with an earned run average of 4.41 and 437 strikeouts to his credit.
On June 28, German threw the 24th perfect game in MLB history, in a 99-pitch epic to etch his name into Yankees folklore. His wife celebrated his crowning achievement with a moving post on Instagram.
"You don't know how great happiness I feel for you, because you deserve it."
