When Lisa Rinna's comparison of herself with LeBron James didn't go down well with fans: "Ben Simmons of housewives," "More like Tristan Thompson"

Back in September, Lisa Rinna, one of the stars of the popular reality TV show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, compared herself to LeBron James.

Lisa Rinna is a popular actress who has previously appeared in Days of our Lives and Melrose Place. The actress was introduced as a guest in season 4 of The Real Housewives... and ended up joining the permanent cast of the show for season 5. In recent months, the actress has emerged as the most controversial on the show and has been involved in multiple feuds involving other stars such as Sutton Stracke and Kathy Hilton.

Lisa has previously also been accused of indulging in racist rants online. Regardless, in a September 18th story, the actress compared herself to NBA legend LeBron James, claiming that she was the “LeBron of the show” and that nobody could afford to get rid of her.

Fans were left offended as the show has previously let go of even bigger stars. This includes Dorinda Medley from The Real Housewives of New York City season 12 and Vicki Gunvalson, who was fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Lisa Rinna leaves RHOB after comparing herself to LeBron James

The comparison with NBA legend and LA Lakers star LeBron James does not seem to have gone down well with any of the parties involved. Earlier today, Bravo TV, the official creator of the show, said the following on Instagram:

“After eight seasons of owning it, Lisa Rinna is departing #RHOBH."

The post was also accompanied by a statement from Lisa Rinna herself, who said she was grateful to have been involved in seven straight seasons:

“I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run and I am excited for what is to come!"

Needless to say, while the jibes and calls from the community to sack Lisa might have influenced the overall decision, her comments and the comparison with LeBron James are bound to have forced the hands of the show creators.

The actress has had a range of controversies involving several of her co-stars. She even threw a wine glass at co-star Kim Richards during a fight. Lisa Rinna was known for her catchphrase “Own it, baby,” which also served as a personal anthem.
