28th Critics Choice Awards 2023: Host, nominations, where to watch, air date, and time
The finest achievements in filmmaking and television programming in 2022 will be recognized at the 28th Critics Choice Awards on January 15, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
The absurdist film Everything Everywhere All at Once is leading the nomination game with 14 nods including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
Meanwhile, in the TV category, the ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary leads with six nominations, including Best Comedy Series. Show creator Quinta Brunson has also been nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
In addition, Janelle Monáe, who identifies as non-binary, is set to receive the Critics Choice Association’s SEEHER Award. Previous recipients include Kristen Bell, Viola Davis, Gal Gadot, Claire Foy, Zendaya, and Halle Berry.
Who is hosting the Critics Choice Awards 2023?
The 28th Critics Choice Awards will be hosted by none other than American comedian, actress, writer, television host, and producer, Chelsea Handler.
Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin spoke about her highly and said:
"We are thrilled to have Chelsea Handler joining us at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards.”
He continued:
"We all know and love her work as a standup comedian, a best-selling author, a podcast host, and actress — and now as host of the Critics’ Choice Awards! I know this will be the best year yet and can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store."
