According to media outlets, court documents listed the official separation date as April 30, 2023, with Kim describing the marriage as "irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation."
The news of Kim Zolciak-Kroy Biermann divorce comes amidst their ongoing financial issues, including their Georgia mansion's foreclosure and that they owe over $1 million to IRS in unpaid taxes from the years 2013, 2017, and 2018.

Most of them felt that they were trying to escape from financial strains that comes with the potential foreclosure of the house and their impending tax payment of over a million dollars. They felt that the duo might declare bankruptcy and get away with it.

RHOA star Kim Zolciak and former husband Kroy Bierman embroiled in legal drama amidst divorce
Kim Zolciak's divorce with ex-husband Kroy Biermann comes amidst a stew of legal troubles that the former couple might face. According to US Weekly, the RHOA star and her then husband's Georgia mansion was in foreclosure and was to be auctioned off by the highest bidder in March 2023.
The foreclosing reportedly began in August 2022 after the former pair defaulted on their mortage. They purchased the mansion, which is located in Manor Golf & Country Club in Alpharetta, Georgia, in 2012 for $880,000. Kim and Kroy denied all of the rumors, with the former clarifying it through her Instagram story in November 2022.

In February 2023, it was reportedly announced that the foreclosure of their mansion would not be taking place. However, no reasons were given behind the abrput cancellation of the same.
According to multiple news reports, the RHOA housewife and her estranged husband owe over $1 million unpaid taxes, interests, and penalties to the IRS, as per court documents. The taxes are from the years 2013, 2017 and 2018. The former couple also owe $15,000 to the state of Georgia as part of unpaid taxes for 2018.
Kim has reportedly asked for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of their children. She has also asked for restoration of her middle name and spousal support.
The RHOA star shares four children with her ex-husband - sons Kroy Jagger, 11, and Kash Kade, 10, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9. In 2013, Kroy adopted Kim's older daughters Brielle Biermann, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21.
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann got married in 2011, and were part of their own reality show Don't Be Tardy, which ran for eight straight seasons from 2012-2020. They showcased their family life and relationship on the show and also on the Bravo series.
