Britney Spears, in her memoir, mentioned that she wanted to get back to work; hence, she served as a judge on The X Factor in 2012
Britney mentioned several things about her life in her memoir, one of which is her experience working as a judge on The X Factor. She wrote in her memoir about it and said,
"Feeling like I needed more direction, I decided to go back to work. I tried to occupy myself by being productive. I began appearing on more TV shows – including, as a judge on The X Factor."
She further said that she doesn't like the work that gets going for 8 hours and requires acting. Britney wrote,
"I think a lot of people are really professional on TV, like Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. When the camera is on them, they thrive. And that’s great. I used to be able to do that when I was younger, but again, I feel like I age backwards when I‘m afraid. And so I got to where I was very, very nervous if I knew I had to be on air, and I didn’t like being nervous all day long."
Britney also said that she has accepted it now, and she can say no, at this point in her life, to people who try to push her in that direction. The singer also noted that in the past, she was humiliated and forced into doing things she didn't like.

"Now, if you’ve got me a cute cameo on a fun TV show where I’m in and out in a day that’s one thing, but to act sceptical for eight straight hours while judging on TV? Uh, no thank you. I absolutely hated it."
It is worth noting that Britney Spears' book The Woman in Me was launched on October 24, 2023. It has created quite a stir lately as some of the excerpts of the book recently went viral.
