Twenty-Five Twenty-One continues reign with top spot among K-Drama, Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) achieves highest ratings
With its third season, the broadcast of the K-Drama Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) in South Korea on TV Chosun shows no signs of slowing down. The show is in the second spot with its winning streak this week. According to Nielsen Korea, the show has gained an average of 7.8 percent nationwide rating for its latest broadcast. However, the winner is Nam Joo-hyuk and Kim Tae-ri-starrer Twenty-Five Twenty-One.
The tvN K-Drama has retained the top spot with its latest broadcast of episode 9 and has gained an average nationwide rating of 10.6 percent. The show has taken the top spot across all channels including the public broadcast networks.
According to Nielsen’s report dated March 12, Twenty-Five Twenty-One also remained in the first place in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers - 20 to 49 - with whom it scored a nationwide average of 6.4 percent.
What other K-Dramas are in the top spots?
After the top two spots were taken over by Twenty-Five Twenty-One and Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 3, the next spot went to the JTBC show Forecasting Love and Weather. It fell to an average nationwide rating of 6.5 percent for its latest episode. The show stars Song Kang and Park Min-young in the lead roles.
Furthermore, the KBS show The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won, has dipped overall with an average rating of 9 percent.
The finale of the SBS show Through the Darkness has earned an average nationwide rating of 7 percent. The show stars Kim Nam-gil, Kim So-jin, and Ryeoun, among others. The show is based on a 2018 non-fiction book with the same title and is co-written by Korea's first criminal profiler Kwon ll-yong and journalist-turned-author Ko Na-mu.
However, overtaking any show to ever be aired on a Saturday is Young Lady and Gentleman. This KBS2 TV’s K-Drama earned an average nationwide rating of 35.7 percent. The show is about a widowed man who falls in love with the tutor he hires for his children. The show stars Lee Se-hee, Ji Hyun-woo, and Park Ha-na, among others.
