Who is Evgeni Malkin's wife? Meet Anna Kasterova

Evgeni Malkin is a Russian hockey player who plays center forward for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL).

He was the Penguins' second overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft. The 36-year-old's rise from being an iron and steel worker to one of the best modern-day NHL players deserves plaudits.

Malkin is married to Anna Kasterova. Kasterova is a well-known Russian TV personality. The 38-year-old was born in Zelenograd, Russia, on Sept. 21, 1984. Anna always aspired to be a TV host or a journalist from a young age and kicked off her journalism career as an editor for the Russian television station TNT.

As she progressed in her profession and gained expertise, she was given opportunities to work for giant firms such as the BBC and Russia 2.

Kasterova and Malkin's romance started with a simple text message. The Penguins center made the first move, and for understandable reasons, Anna Kasterova ignored him. Malkin, however, didn't give up hope and tried his best to earn a positive response from Anna.

This went on for several days, until Anna began to reciprocate. Their conversations became more frequent, and a bond began to form.

Eventually, the only thing holding them apart was their geographical locations. Evgeni was focused on his NHL career in Canada, while Anna was in Russia. This, however, did nothing to reduce their bond and only encouraged them to form a stronger relationship than ever before.

Soon, the days of their long-distance relationship were drawing to a close. Malkin and Anna Kasterova eventually got engaged in November 2015. The following year, on May 31, their happiness peaked as the couple welcomed their first child, a son.
