Wind Breaker characters are one of the strongest characters in the non-fantasy genre of the series, considering how the majority of the cast from the series is delinquent. However, among these hot-headed barbarians exist some fighters who use their minds before using their fists and these either become leaders or stay the underdogs until their time comes.
In this article, 10 of the strongest Wind Breaker characters will be compiled (as of chapter 154) and ranked according to both their intellect and strength. Moreover, as the strength of some bigshots is yet to be revealed, they would be skipped and the list will be according to the information the Wind Breaker series has given fans so far.

10) Hayato Suo
One of the vice-captains of his class and also one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters, Hayato Suo is a man of friendly demeanor but he could hide something dark inside that the series is yet to put light on.
Even though the character's true potential is yet to be unveiled, he has showcased his impeccable fighting technique in battle. Moreover, he is yet to be beaten by anyone, making him one of the most promising Wind Breaker characters.
9) Ren Kaji
Ren Kaji is the captain of the Second Grade of Furin High School and one of the characters from which the protagonist, Haruka Sakura, learned the most. He is also one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters and one of the most responsible students from Furin High School.
Even though his demeanor is that of an immature person, he is one of the most sensible characters in the series. His real potential became evident against the members of Noroshi as he stood alone against them.
8) Jo Togame
The second-in-command of the Shishitoran gang and one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters, Jo Togame is one of the strongest opponents Furin High has ever faced. He was also the reason behind the life philosophy development of Tomiyama, Shishitoren's captain.
However, he paid the price later through the harsh actions of his captain until Umemiya, Furin's captain, saved him and the entire gang. Although Tomiyama's personality is left shaken after the fight, he returns during the fight against Noroshi and saves Sakura so that he can move forward.
7) Tasuku Tsubakino
One of the Four Heavenly Kings of Furin High School, Tasuku Tsubakino is unlike any other character of the series as they embody the emotion of love before raising their fists against someone.
Being one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters, Tsubakino is also one of the wisest characters who displayed their vision against Shuhei from Gravel as they prioritized changing him rather than beating him.
6) Toma Hiragi
One of the strongest Wind Breaker characters who also has stomach issues due to his nervousness, Toma Hiragi is one of the Five Heavenly Kings. Despite having a stomach ache before any battle, he is unfazed when he starts fighting.
Moreover, he was also one of the shining stars during the battle against Noroshi as he took care of one of the big shots of the opponent gang single handedly. Ironically, the only person he has issues with is his captain Umemiya as he gets triggered by his wholesome behavior.
5) Choji Tomiyama
The captain of the Shishitoren gang and also one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters in the series, Choji Tomiyama is a fighter of short stature who is always happy and on the go for fighting strong opponents.
After losing against Umemiya, Choji Tomiyama's view on life was changed and he started helping others. During the fight against Noroshi, Choji Tomiyama's surprise appearance made a significant change and turned the tide towards Furin.
4) Yamato Endo
One of the leading members of the Noroshi gang, Endo is the first member of Noroshi who made an entrance to the series after the defeat of the KEEL gang. He was recognized by Tsubakino and it was revealed that Endo was a former Furin member.
Despite being a member, he gathered the people to make a separate gang for Takiishi to lead. He lost to Sakura during the Furin vs Noroshi arc but he did it intently because he, for the first time, felt someone's attention towards him. However, for people other than Sakura and Takiishi, he was a beast that was hard to beat.
3) Haruka Sakura
The overarching protagonist of the series, Haruka Sakura is the captain of his grade and one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters. After shifting from his old place to Makochi to attend Furin High, the protagonist faced difficulties accepting kindness from others, he wasn't used to this.
However, as time went by, he started accepting the people around him and developed the feeling of protecting his friends. He also developed a close relationship with Umemiya as the protagonist wanted to rise to the top. Currently, in the Furin vs Noroshi arc, he beat some big guns of the opponent gang and also their lead member Endo.
2) Hajime Umemiya
The person who changed Furin High School and became its leader, Hajime Umemiya is one of the strongest and smartest Wind Breaker characters. Despite his cruel past in the starting days of high school, he buried his past and started from scratch. Although he has a very goofy personality around his loved ones, he is someone that everyone fears in their mind
However, as of the latest chapters, his old personality is coming back against the fight with Takiishi. However, he is expected to remain the strongest on and off the battlefield as the leader of Furin, just like when he saved Tomiyama from going berserk instead of beating him.
1) Chika Takiishi
The captain of the Noroshi gang and the person for whom only Umemiya matters, Chika Takiishi is one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters, if not the strongest. As explained by Furin's leader in the past, despite his continuous attempts, the Furin members have never beaten Takiishi in battle.
If this is not enough to explain his fighting potential, he also has the dominant hand against Umemiya in their fight during the Furin vs Noroshi arc. This proves that he is, potentially, the strongest character of Wind Breaker.
Final thoughts
Ranking Takiishi above Umemiya could be controversial considering how the latter belongs on the protagonist's team. However, this does give the author enough room to give Umemiya character development in his fight against Takiishi.
As there is no telling if the ongoing arc is the final one, fans can expect the other two Heavenly Kings, Saku Mizuki and Takumi Momose, to get the spotlight in the upcoming chapter too as their true potential as one of the strongest Wind Breaker characters remain unexplored.
