The man who rejected the offer to become one of the warlords of the sea, Portgas D Ace, was one of the One Piece characters who resented his father, Gol D Roger until he died. He even joined the rival crew of his father and died a son of Edward Newgate.

The reasons behind his resentment for his biological father weren't specifically mentioned, but the discrimination Ace faced as the son of the Pirate King played a big part in him hating his father, Gold D Roger. He then rejected Roger's name his whole life and died with his mother's name, Portgas, showing how stubborn he was with this aspect of his life.

9) Enel

The self-proclaimed 'God' of the Skypiea Islands, Enel is one of the most stubborn One Piece characters. He was also one of the main antagonists of the series, remaining adamant about his identity as an ascended being. He was stubborn about this personality even after Luffy beat him.

The reasons behind his being so delusional about his personality are still unknown, but his origins as an arrogant human could be an indicator of his delusional personality. After eating the Rumble-Rumble devil fruit, he found himself the strongest one on his home island, Birka. He could have developed God syndrome.

8) Boa Hancock

The innocent soul who is not willing to give up on her love for Luffy, even though it seems useless, Boa Hancock is one of the One Piece characters who are stubborn about romance in their lives. She fell in love with Luffy on their first meeting because her powers didn't affect him.

This eventually led to her falling head over heels for him, even though Luffy did not respond. But she still believes that Luffy could have some feelings for her, even though the word 'love' is not in the protagonist's dictionary.

7) Foxy

Foxy is one of the minor antagonists of the series and one of the One Piece characters who never stops cheating. The pirate only has appearances whenever the series features Davy Back fights.

Despite participating in these fights the most in the series, Foxy has never once tried to examine his mistakes. He prefers to cheat and win the fight instead of looking for ways to strengthen his pirate crew and develop a proper strategy.

He fought the Straw Hat Pirates twice and cheated both times. He lost the first time, meaning he could have devised a different strategy the second time, but his stubborn nature forbade him to think logically, and he again resorted to cheating.

6) Spandam

Spandam is one of the most hated One Piece characters due to his obsession with getting Nico Robin punished, which is the same reason he is also one of the most stubborn One Piece characters.

His reasons for despising Nico Robin are still unknown, which makes his obsession with hurting her even more questionable. Fortunately, the Straw Hat Pirate was able to get her revenge on him at the end of Enies Lobby arc by breaking his spine using her devil fruit powers.

5) Borsalino

Borsalino, more commonly referred to as Admiral Kizaru is one of the One Piece characters who mindlessly follows the World Government's orders and is unwilling to betray them no matter what. The most prominent example of his stubbornness was showcased during the Egghead Island arc when he let Vegapunk and Kuma's family get tortured by Saint Saturn.

Kizaru enjoyed a good time with Kuma when he was with Vegapunk regarding the making of the Pacifista units. Despite enjoying a good time with these fellows, he doesn't do anything to save them from Saint Saturn, showing his stubborn nature when it comes to following the orders of the World Government.

4) Smoker

The man obsessed with capturing Monkey D Luffy and putting him in jail, Smoker is one of the most stubborn One Piece characters. The reason behind his obsession is that he considers Luffy on the same level as the Pirate King, judging from his smile when Buggy tries to execute him.

Unfortunately, he has failed numerous times to catch Luffy. The first time was during the Loguetown arc when Dragon stopped him. The second was during the Arabasta arc, when he let Luffy leave because his crewmate saved him from drowning. Lastly, it was during the Punk Hazard arc when he got closest to capturing him, but Doflamingo's arrival couldn't let him do anything.

3) Buggy

Buggy is one of the most stubborn One Piece characters who, despite losing so many times to others, never pays attention to appointing new fighters but instead prefers to keep his attention on treasure.

While matching Nami's obsession with treasure seems impossible, Buggy does give her a run for her money by getting into dangerous situations in his thirst for treasure. The biggest example of this is his sneaky escape from the Roger Pirates, which ended up with him eating his Chop-Chop devil fruit by accident and almost dying by drowning.

2) Marshall D Teech (Blackbeard)

The D clan member who is considered the Messiah by his crew members, Blackbeard, is one of the ultimate antagonists of the series and one of the most stubborn One Piece characters, who never learns from experience.

Despite trying to make a flashy appearance at various times, he always ends up in complicated situations in spite of his confidence at the start of his appearance. He appeared on Impel Down for some reason with great confidence but was surprised by how powerful the warden of this place, Megallan, was.

Where most fans consider this some kind of strategy from Blackbeard, he could be adamant about making a single strategy work every time. Unfortunately, this hasn't worked once, and his stubborn nature forbids him from changing his course of action in battle.

1) Monkey D Luffy

The most stubborn One Piece character who aims to become the Pirate King no matter what, Monkey D Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and the main protagonist of One Piece.

Despite most of the One Piece characters being steadfast in their goals, they are still no match for Luffy's stubbornness to reach the end of the Grand Line. Other than this goal, there is another thing Luffy is stubborn about, and that is choosing dangerous destinations instead of safe ones.

This was showcased after the crew left Fisherman Island when the Fisherman tribe requested the Straw Hat Pirates travel with caution. Luffy wrapped around Nami, the navigator, and demanded that they take their journey towards the more dangerous destination.
