The previous season centered around Rentaro Aijo and his soulmates. After earning his hundredth rejection, Rentaro went to a love shrine and prayed to get a girlfriend. The God of Love heard Rentaro's wish and told him that he would meet a total of a hundred soulmates during his high school days.

While Rentaro didn't believe God's words at first, he realized the truth when Hakari and Karane, two of his soulmates, confessed their feelings to him. Later, Rentaro discovered from God at the shrine that if he denied his soulmates' proposal, they would die.
