What is the plot of 365 Days to the Wedding?
The story follows two introverted coworkers - Takuya Ohara and Rika Honjoji, who work at the Tokyo branch of JTC, a travel agency. Although neither of them particularly stands out in their workplace, both Takuya and Rika live fulfilling lives at home.
Both of them are unmarried as well and have little to no social interactions with other people. Takuya lives alone in an apartment with his pet cat, Kama, and spends his idle time watching television with him. Meanwhile, Rika has an unusual fondness of maps, and could spend hours studying them.
However, both of their individual lifestyles are threatened when a new branch of JTC was announced to be opening in the city of Anchorage, Alaska. An employee from the Tokyo branch would be transferred to be the branch manager in Anchorage, and unmarried employees would be given priority for the transfer.
Therefore, Rika proposed an idea to Takuya after a chance encounter at a park - they would pretend to be married so that neither of them would be considered for the transfer. After some initial hesitation, Takuya agreed to this proposal, especially since he didn't want to leave Tokyo and wanted to continue taking care of his cat at his home.
However, neither Takuya nor Rika was prepared for their coworkers' reaction to the news about their marriage. Both of them became the center of attention and often found themselves in awkward situations.
The show's premise comes down to the question of whether this "pretend marriage" will lead to something real between the introverted protagonists. To find out, viewers can tune in to each episode of the 365 Days to the Wedding anime, which has currently aired only two episodes out of twelve.
