Given that the series is currently in its epilogue, Kohei Horikoshi is working towards providing all the My Hero Academia characters with suitable conclusions to their respective stories.

The Final War arc of My Hero Academia managed to successfully wrap up All For One and Tomura Shigaraki's stories and provided overall satisfying sendoffs to both of their characters. As the series nears its end with each passing chapter, fans are looking forward to witnessing their beloved characters getting a much-deserved focus in Horikoshi's epilogue.

That said, Horikoshi doesn't need to spend time providing every single character with a satisfying conclusion, as it would be nearly impossible to do so before the series wraps up. With that in mind, let us look at the 4 My Hero Academia characters who deserve a focus in the epilogue, and 4 who aren't worth the time spent.

4 My Hero Academia characters who deserve a focus in the Epilogue

1) Shoto Todoroki

The Todoroki family were a major focus of My Hero Academia's Final War arc. As such, it only makes sense for their story to be specifically focused upon via Shoto Todoroki.

As fans may remember, Shoto had managed to defeat Dabi and save his family from peril in chapter 390 of the manga. Although there hasn't yet been any confirmation about Dabi's condition, fans assumed that he was most likely dead, given the dire nature of his injuries.

Therefore, Shoto and his family should be a crucial part of the ongoing epilogue, in order to showcase the aftermath of the monumental battle on the Todoroki family and to provide a definitive answer about Dabi's status.

2) Izuku Midoriya

The story of Izuku Midoriya is certainly far from over, despite the apparent loss of his Quirk. While it's true that Midoriya managed to accomplish everything he had set out to do, there are still some aspects of his character that require a bit more exploring.

Now that he is almost in the same state as All Might when the latter lost One For All, it would certainly be interesting to see how Midoriya manages to be a part of the Hero society without a Quirk. Although he may not be the central focus of the epilogue, fans can rest assured that Midoriya's journey is not completely over yet.

3) Ochaco Uraraka

Ochaco Uraraka's final battle against Himiko Toga was one of the most memorable moments of the Final War arc. Their monumental rivalry came to a bittersweet end, as the fight's final moments saw Toga sacrifice her life so that Uraraka could live on.

Given the brutal nature and outcome of their battle, it would certainly be interesting to witness just how much of an impact Toga's death had on Uraraka. As such, her character should be a key focus of the ongoing epilogue, to showcase her growth throughout the story.

4) Hawks

Hawks is another character who deserves a significant amount of focus in the ongoing epilogue of My Hero Academia. After suffering heavy injuries at the hands of Dabi and getting his Quirk stolen by All For One, fans are anxious to get an update on Hawks' life post-war and see how he adapts to the Hero society after becoming Quirkless.

4 My Hero Academia characters who aren't worth the time spent in Horikoshi's epilogue

1) Minoru Mineta

For the longest time, Minoru Mineta was one of the most despised My Hero Academia characters. Although he did redeem himself to some extent in the Final War arc with his bravado against All For One, he has seemingly returned to his usual perverse nature in the current chapters of the manga.

To begin with, Mineta was never a major focus of the My Hero Academia series. So Mineta not receiving much time in the ongoing epilogue likely wouldn't hurt the series in a major way.

2) Yuga Aoyama

Yuga Aoyama was one of the many characters who was initially treated by many as an afterthought. However, his character became the highlight of the Final Act Saga following the shocking revelation of him being the U.A. Traitor. Since then, Aoyama worked hard to regain the trust of his friends and worked with them to defeat All For One.

Although fans would have preferred to witness Aoyama's character being highlighted once again in the ongoing epilogue, it, unfortunately, looks like Horikoshi has decided to bid an early farewell to the character.

Since it was recently revealed that Aoyama had decided to leave U.A. High altogether, it seems a bit unnecessary to focus any more time on his character any further in the upcoming chapters of the manga.

3) Hitoshi Shinso

Hitoshi Shinso is a character who certainly has come a long way from his first appearance in My Hero Academia season 2 as Deku's rival. Since then, he has continued to impress fans with his skills and determination to overcome the stigma surrounding his Quirk and use it to become a top Hero instead. His journey throughout the series has not only made him a favorite among fans, but also among the rest of the My Hero Academia characters as well.

That said, Shinso joining Class A in the latest chapter of the manga essentially made his story come full circle, as he went from a feared individual in the General Department to a beloved Hero in Class A. As such, it isn't necessary to spend any further time behind Shinso in the ongoing epilogue.

4) Best Jeanist

Despite being one of the top Pro Heroes of My Hero Academia, Best Jeanist was hardly a focus in the Final War arc of the series. He hasn't made an appearance in the manga for over 50 chapters now.

While a brief appearance from him in the upcoming chapters of the manga would certainly be welcome by the fans, Best Jeanist is one of the many characters who shouldn't be the front and centre of the ongoing epilogue.

Final Thoughts

Without a doubt, the ensemble cast of My Hero Academia are among the many reasons behind the series' overwhelming success. While it would certainly be impossible to focus on every single character in the ongoing epilogue, fans hope that Kohei Horikoshi would at least be able to deliver a satisfying ending for all the major characters of the series.
