My Hero Academia's Class 1-A has come a long way since the start of the series. Everyone has grown immensely, from barely passing the entry exam to fighting in the final war against All For One. Though there are debates as to who developed more than whom in My Hero Academia, the fact remains that Class 1-A's students are far better at The Final War arc than they started.

As of My Hero Academia chapter 420, All For One has played his last trump card: the sliver of himself inside Tomura Shigaraki took advantage of Tenko's weakened mental state and assumed direct control of Shigaraki's body. But hope is not lost because reinforcements arrived to aid Deku in the form of Aizawa, the still-standing members of Class 1-A, and an army of heroes.

Even with All For One in a body as badly beaten as Tomura's, it's likely to be a tough battle. So many are already wounded, and many likely will breathe their last breath, stopping this villain.

Disclaimer: The following article will contain major spoilers for the ongoing My Hero Academia series, particularly the manga and final war arc. All opinions are exclusive to the author. As an additional note: Deku, Ochaco, Shoto, and Bakugo are exempt from this list.

5 My Hero Academia Class 1-A students who may not return from fighting All For One

1) Minoru Mineta

One of My Hero Academia's least popular students in Class 1-A who's likely to bite the dust in the finale is Minoru Mineta. Mineta's character already gets heat for being the overdone pervert trope with nothing to back him up in terms of development; thus, the likelihood of anyone crying over his death isn't high.

That being said, Mineta has already survived an encounter with All For One in chapter 385 as part of the attack using Gigantomachia. Since he prevented All for One from stealing Fumikage's Dark Shadow and seems more comically injured than everyone else, Mineta might go out in a blaze of glory or prove himself in another way before dying.

2) Mashirao Ojiro

Mineta may be one of the characters that has almost universally negative press, but Ojiro is more of a background character in My Hero Academia than anything else. The martial artist hero Tailman is a fairly good fighter, using martial arts and his tail to his advantage.

Despite this, Ojiro, Sero, and Sato got good hits on All For One when they all saved Deku in chapter 420. These three haven't been seen much during the final war arc, so it makes sense that they get a few hits on All For One. It also makes sense that Ojiro will probably not make it out alive, given his focus is close range.

3) Rikido Sato

The Sugar Rush Hero in My Hero Academia is another case of a character not getting much attention throughout the series. The final war has shown that there's no such thing as an unimportant character. This means Sato's coming in alongside Sero and Ojiro to save Deku was pleasantly surprising.

The subsequent battle may not go well for Sato, considering Sato is also a close-range fighter without much character development. Sato's Quirk is also dependent on consuming 10 grams of sugar for three minutes of power repeatedly, and he's been fighting in the stadium almost all day. This presents several disadvantages to fighting All For One, even if he is in Tomura's battered body.

4) Hanta Sero

The tape-using hero has proven himself repeatedly with his tape quirk as a setup for a combination move or trap for a villain. Whether it's dropping boulders or pinning people down, Sero's quirk is good at helping out people. The problem is that he's technically considered a support hero and not exactly great against powerhouses like Nine from Heroes Rising.

He also hasn't had his moment in the spotlight yet, at least not when compared to a few others in Class 1-A in the Final War arc. While it was good that he stopped All for One from killing Deku, it may not work the same way twice. Keeping his distance may save Sero from death, but it's not likely to work forever.

5) Koji Koda

While this might come as a surprise since Koji just had his Quirk evolve, Koji's contributions are usually as a scout. He has a powerful Quirk, with Anivoice allowing him to speak to and utilize animals. His Quirk evolved during My Hero Academia's final war arc, when he summoned thousands of birds.

Although his quirk has proved useful in scouting or for distractions, Koda isn't the greatest in hand-to-hand combat. He may prove good at blindsiding All For One and may even get a good moment similar to stopping the Meta Liberation Army's speaker during the hospital raid, but he'll likely meet his end in the process.

5 My Hero Academia Class 1-A students who have a high chance of coming back alive

1) Momo Yaoyorozu

The workhorse of Class 1-A and infinite creation hero has survived more battles and close calls than many of her classmates. Momo has been a huge asset to the war effort thus far, keeping supplies going alongside several heroes like Mei Hatsume and Cementoss, keeping people hydrated and replenished.

When the Twice Doubles threatened to overwhelm their defenses, Momo created multiple weapons to hold the tide of bodies at bay. She's smart enough to fight even powerful opponents, like stalling Gigantomachia in the Paranormal Liberation War. She knows how to use open and limited space well and is extremely versatile. She has a high chance of surviving All for One's onslaught, provided her wits are sharp and her nerves are calm.

2) Eijiro Kirishima

My Hero Academia's hotheaded Red Riot has never stopped impressing audiences since his debut. His Unbreakable Quirk hasn't been broken through thus far: not by blades, not by Quirk destroying bullets, not by Dabi's flames, direct impact from Gigantomachia's hands while saving Mina, or direct attacks from All For One.

During My Hero Academia's final war, Kirishima was part of the team sent to secure and brainwash Gigantomachia. While he needed saving from the Sludge Villain by Mina, his quirk proved most helpful in blocking some of All for One's blows and protecting Hitoshi Shinso. He was last seen bleeding from All for One's retaliatory strike in chapter 385, but has not been confirmed dead.

3) Kyoka Jiro

The sound-based hero has been quite busy during the Final War and, unlike Fumikage and others like Mina and Shoto, is still up and able to fight. Her ultimate move helped break All For One's life support in chapter 355, despite having her left earphone jack blown off.

As it stands, she was last seen being rescued from the massive Sad Man Legion by Kamui Woods. With Himiko Toga having been dealt with, Jiro might be able to help in the long-range action. Long-range appears to be rather effective, and she's already survived a close encounter with All for One, the handicap of her left earphone jack being missing notwithstanding.

4) Tsuyu Asui

Tsuyu Asui has been through trial after trial, much like everyone else in Class 1-A, and usually doesn't get as heavily injured as the others do. She's always there to lend support and yank people out of trouble, doing so for Mineta and Deku during the USJ and backing up Ochaco when Toga menaced her.

What Tsu lacks in power—her calm mind and working well alongside others—pays off more times than not. Given that she has survived against Toga's Sad Man Legion, Toga at close range, Near-High End Nomu, and other threats like Gigantomachia due to being agile, calm, and able to help everyone else in a pinch, she's likely to survive All for One.

5) Mezo Shoji

Tentacole had a tough fight against an almost kaiju-sized Spinner from My Hero Academia chapters 372–406 and got injured and nearly passed out in the process, but he's still standing as of chapter 420. Even if he didn't get a lot of screen time before the Final War arc, Shoji has more than proven he can fight with the best of them.

While he is technically a close-range fighter, fighting nearly pound for pound against Spinner and causing his entire heteromorph army to back down means he stands a good chance of surviving against All for One. Plus, the healing factor on his appendages that he uses to fight gives him an edge.

Readers should note this list didn't include several other names like Kaminari, who is in a gray area due to charging the electrical barrier for the U.A. Flying Fortress, or other people that have been taken off the battlefield like Ochaco or knocked out like Fumikage. This list concerns Class 1-A students who are still active and able to fight, so those who are unconscious, too injured to fight, or were taken off the battlefield as of Chapter 420 don't count.

It's also a non-exhaustive list, as others like Toru Hagakure, aka Invisible Girl, or Yugo Aoyama, aka Can't Stop Twinkling, are far away from the current battlefield. My Hero Academia hasn't had any major Class 1-A students die in the final battle yet, though that may come sooner than fans think.

Readers should also note that all of these are just guesses, as stories throw curveballs at the audience often. Chapter 421 will hopefully answer this question, and many others, as the final battle commences.
