JoJoLands showed the return of one of the most popular characters in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, Rohan Kishibe. Not only that, but he has shown to have his classic Stand, Heaven’s Door, in the recent chapter in the manga. This led many fans to discuss which Stands should make a comeback in the series and which shouldn’t.
Of course, author Hirohiko Araki is unlikely to repeat any other Stands in JoJoLands as he is a creator who doesn’t like doing fanservice. Still, it is a fun exercise, nonetheless. So, here are, in no particular order, five Stands that should be repeated in JoJoLands, and five that should never come back.

5 Stands that should make a comeback in JoJoLands
1. Goo Goo Dolls
Gwess is the first opponent that Jolyne Cujoh faces in the sixth part of JoJo’s Stone Ocean, and her Stand, Goo Goo Dolls, could be quite interesting to see in JoJoLands.
The ability of Goo Goo Dolls allows Gwess to manipulate a person’s size while they are within her Stand’s range. She does this to Jolyne to manipulate her, but the latter eventually reacts and stands (pun intended) for herself.
It could be quite interesting to see a Stand of this ilk in a series where the new JoJo, Jodio, works as a dealer and has been tasked with stealing a diamond from Rohan Kishibe. Considering how Araki likes creative battles, Goo Goo Dolls could be very useful.
2. Purple Haze
Fugo was quickly written out of the fifth part, Golden Wind, because Araki didn’t want to continue with the original idea of him being a traitor to Bruno, Giorno, and the rest of the gang. This is a shame because his Stand, the dangerous Purple Haze, only got one battle and feels like a massive waste.
Purple Haze is a proper representation of Fugo’s inner rage, expelling a virus that can hurt friends and foes alike, which is a fascinating concept for a Stand that wasn’t explored a lot in the series. It could be very interesting in JoJoLands as it would offer something very different.
3. The Hand
Okuyasu was the designated lovable idiot in the fourth part, Diamond is Unbreakable, and while he was solid comic relief, he didn’t get much to do in terms of fighting. And that might be due to the fact that his Stand, The Hand, is very powerful.
The Hand has a very simple ability: anything his right touches, including space itself, will disappear. And because Okuyasu wasn’t the smartest guy, he rarely used it to its full potential. This is a concept and an ability that Araki could explore a lot more in JoJoLands.
4. Anubis
If there is a concept that should be explored more in JoJo’s, which has already been done in JoJolion and should be tried again in JoJoLands, it is that of the sentient Stand that can control a person’s body and Anubis from the third part, Stardust Crusaders, is a great example of this.
Anubis is a Stand with the physical form of a sword, and whoever holds the weapon will be possessed by the former. Jean Pierre Polnareff, one of the Crusaders, was possessed at one point and had to fight Jotaro Kujo, for example. This could be a very interesting concept to explore in JoJoLands as a minor villain of sorts or even as a recurring one.
5. King Crimson
King Crimson was terrifying, imposing, and had an ability that was hard to understand. This Stand is basically everything that is great about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and should come back in JoJoLands if given the opportunity.
Its ability to skip time while its user stayed conscious of the events, its incredible design, and its sheer power could make for a very strong final boss for Jodio and his friends. Additionally, Diavolo, while a very interesting villain, has had a divisive opinion among fans, so this Stand could use a second chance.
5 Stands that shouldn't come back in JoJoLands
1. Star Platinum
Jotaro Kujo is an icon and the face of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. He is the most popular character in the entire franchise, and he has been involved in four parts of the series with varying roles. So, there shouldn’t be any need for him or his Stand, Star Platinum, to appear in JoJoLands or the near future.
This is not a criticism of Jotaro but rather not abusing the character or his Stand anymore, as he was very recurring in the past, and there is no need for them to show up in this part. Regardless, as mentioned earlier, Araki is not an author known for doing fanservice, so the scenario of Star Platinum showing up in JoJoLands is highly unlikely.
2. The World
Pretty much the same case as Star Platinum. Dio and The World have been involved heavily in the series, whether direct or indirect, and it is important to give it a rest. This case would be even more prominent when the role of Diego Brando in the seventh part, Steel Ball Run (which takes place in the same continuity as JoJoLands), is considered.
Dio, along with Jotaro, is the most popular character in the franchise and is influential in almost every part. But there are times when some characters need to be given a rest, and that is exactly the case for the iconic blonde villain and his Stand, The World.
3. Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick is tied to Rohan Kishibe in more than one way. During the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Rohan has to deal with this Stand that adheres to a person’s back and seeks their demise, forcing someone to watch their back, where Cheap Trick is, which leads to that user dying.
Rohan needed Koichi’s help to get rid of Cheap Trick, and considering that the famous mangaka has made a comeback in JoJoLands, bringing this Stand back would be very cliché and on the nose.
4. Empress
Watching Joseph Joestar roll back the years against Empress was one of the best moments in Stardust Crusaders, but that doesn’t justify any return for that enemy Stand in the ninth part or any other potential part. It would be a waste of time.
The Stand is basically a parasite stuck in the victim’s arms and starts attacking him or her. And while Joseph’s solution to the battle was very cunning and smart, very much in line with his character, the Stand itself is not memorable or worthy of repetition.
5. Dragon's Dream
If there is Stand in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure which is unnecessarily complex, it is Stone Ocean’s Dragon’s Dream. And that reason alone should keep it away from JoJoLands.
Foo Fighters faced the user of this Stand in the sixth part, and its ability is basically providing directions about which points to hit to generate more or less luck. This is a very superficial summary. It is complex and doesn’t need to be, which is often why fans deem it one of the worst Stands in the franchise and one of the worst battles as a whole.
Part of Araki’s motivation to create a whole new continuity was to move away from such complex Stands and be more straightforward, which is something he should keep doing and avoid Stands like Dragon’s Dream.
Final thoughts
JoJoLands made an impact online with the return of Rohan and his Stand, Heaven’s Door, which got people’s attention in the process. However, while it is very unlikely that other Stands from the previous continuity will make a comeback in JoJoLands, it is fun to think of the many abilities that Araki has created, those that could still work, and those that couldn’t.
