Sasuke Uchiha's journey through Boruto was hard as he had to act like a spy to redeem himself from his past actions. Moreover, due to his line of work, he never had time to enjoy a family life with Sakura and Sarada, but his life was still satisfactory as he had a loving wife and a caring daughter. However, a recent edit imagined Sasuke's life as a nightmare through a simple addition.
An X user (@darentseta) redefined Sasuke's journey through the sequel series as Itachi's genjutsu, connecting it back to the fight between these brothers that happened in Naruto Shippuden. What amazed the fans in this fight was the finesse and how the animator connected events which made everything look like the real deal.

What is the Boruto edit that reimagined Sasuke's destiny?
The fan edit commenced with a focus on Sasuke Uchiha, a supporting character of Boruto, standing in the middle of the woods. He was approached by Sarada Uchiha, his daughter, who claimed to have mastered the Chidori, a ninjutsu technique, and wanted to learn Kirin, an advanced Lightning Release Ninjutsu technique that utilizes lightning from thunderclouds.
However, Sasuke denied her request softly and said that he still had to teach her daughter the Chidori Nagashi (Chidori Stream), a ninjutsu technique that might be necessary to learn Kirin. Sasuke then tapped Saradá's forehead, a trademark compliment from the character he uses for his close ones.
Sarada then smirked at Sasuke and wanted to return the favor. However, her hand cued to the side, returning Sasuke back to the Fated Battle Between Brothers arc where he fought Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke's brother, hinting that the Boruto series was a genjutsu that showed Sasuke a life where he was happy.
Reaction from the fans
The fans were in awe of the fan edit to the point that some considered this 'what if' situation a valid possibility, given how real genjutsu techniques could be (especially from the master of illusions, Itachi). Moreover, considering this situation canon, one fan claimed that it would have instantly triggered Sasuke's Mangekyou Sharingan awakening due to the trauma it might have induced.
Surprisingly, some fans favored this situation more than the canon ending and claimed that if this was real, they might have relieved the series from all past allegations. However, amidst all this appreciation, one fan branded this edit as 'disrespectful' to Itachi's character and claimed that the fan edit animator might be a Boruto hater striving for attention.
'Itachi did put someone under a genjutsu for a lifetime so this isn't outta the realm of possibility' a fan said
'If it was, the amount of rage that Saskue already had would be so Livid, he would have gotten Mangekyo on the Spot' another fan said
'If they had the balls to pull of something like this, I would take back every sh*tty thing ive ever said about this manga' another one said
I think this is just disrespectful for Itachi's character. I hate these it all infinite tsukuyomi / genjutsu. Just because you don't like Boruto you're trying to erase it even if it doesn't make any sense. I really can't understand haters.' another one claimed
Final thoughts
Fortunately, the fan edit animator gave a disclaimer and wanted to make sure that the series' true fans weren't triggered. However, it is understandable how it would seem 'disrespectful' to the fans who watch it without knowing any context. Such edits expand a watcher's vision and reimagine situations, according to particular events, that fans never expected were possible.
