The episode then switches the location to the bookstore, where the store's manager guides Saki Hananoi on his new job and advises the boy to keep it professional during his job hours. However, Saki finds it difficult to adjust to his co-workers, especially with Hinase's childhood friend, Sohei Yao.

He even directly tells him to stay away from his girlfriend and stop calling her "Hotako." Later in the episode, Saki, Hinase, Sohei and others help the manager, Yukihiro, with an urgent duty, concerning packaging some items.

After helping him out, Saki finds out from the manager that he has known him since childhood when he used to come to the bookstore. Meanwhile, Hinase receives a call at night from her friend, Asami. She tells her that her boyfriend has invited her to his house.
