My Hero Academia epilogue solved almost every complaint fans had with the original ending and concluded the series on a happy note. While there is little chance of the series getting any more future updates, there are still chances of it getting another movie adaptation. However, a fifth movie might ruin everything Kohei Horikoshi worked for, and it has to do with the theme of every movie.

In every movie, the main theme is introducing a new power-up of the protagonist's One for All quirk. However, as Midoriya lost his quirk in the final chapters, a fifth movie might see Izuku getting One for All back. This might ruin Horikoshi's efforts to draw an epilogue and make the protagonist's new suit useless, given how he received it to continue his journey as a hero.

Why another My Hero Academia movie might do injustice to the series

My Hero Academia's final war ended with Deku and the heroes winning against the villains. However, the triumph came at the cost of the protagonist losing his quirk, One for All. Fortunately, after some time passed, the protagonist was rewarded with a battle suit from All Might, which he could use to continue his hero career.

This suit was based on the past battle knowledge from the Symbol of Peace's fights. Its only drawback was that the protagonist had difficulty getting used to it. However, this complaint was also rectified in the epilogue chapter, where Midoriya was seen in action using the battle suit.

The My Hero Academia epilogue chapter connected loose ends left behind after the final chapter. So, it could be considered a 'perfect ending' for the series in many ways. However, this ending might be prone to blunders if a new movie for the series gets announced.

The series' movies are 'canon,' as confirmed by the author and the series various times. They usually explore the protagonist's upcoming power-up (as Izuku's Dark Deku persona was foreshadowed in the World Heroes Mission movie). However, as Izuku lost One for All against Shigaraki during the Final War Arc, a new movie might explore the protagonist getting One for All back.

This might ruin the epilogue, which explains how the protagonist had gotten used to his new life without One for All. This might also make the new battle suit look like an ordinary suit. The new suit was heavily modified from the one All Might used in the fight against All for One, so it might be the strongest battle suit in the series.

Midoriya might get used to it in the future, but nerfing the suit by giving the protagonist his powers back could be bad writing. So, a fifth movie for My Hero Academia might ruin everything for the series and make every good move of Kohei Horikoshi look like a joke.

Final thoughts

A better idea for a fifth movie might be to adapt the epilogue chapter with Kohei Horikoshi as a supervisor. Manga authors are getting more involved with anime adaptations by the coming of age.

Given how the epilogue chapter could be considered lacking when talking about the art style, the author might get another chance to do what he couldn't and extend the hiatus to a point where fans could enjoy it more than before.
