A forgettable Amado scene may have foreshadowed Boruto's Thorn Soul Bulb long ago

With the release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 12, the manga introduced fans to Thorn Soul Bulb. The entity was new and had been seen for the first time in the series. However, as evident from the manga, its existence may have been planned from the very beginning.

This is because a similar scene featuring Amado may have foreshadowed it back in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga itself. Such evidence also suggests why Kashin Koji might have been aware of the Thorn Soul Bulb, theoretically canceling out possibilities of any time travel having taken place during the timeskip.

Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.

Amado's Delta drone scene in Boruto may have foreshadowed Thorn Soul Bulb

According to an observation made by a Boruto fan on Reddit u/Alexander_Timofeev, Jura retrieving Hidari's Thorn Soul Bulb looked very similar to the time when Delta's drone flew back to Amado's lab in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter 34. The similarity in the two scenes suggests that the manga may have foreshadowed Thorn Soul Bulb's existence years before they were first introduced.

However, that's not all as the Thorn Soul Bulb and Delta's drone also have some similarities; both entities have eyes. While Thorn Soul Bulb has a Rinnegan, the drone has an eye for capturing visuals. Additionally, similar to the Thorn Soul Bulb which has thorn-like growth underneath it, the drone has thorn-like attachments.

These evidences suggest that Delta's drone might have been based on a Thorn Soul Bulb as well. There is a possibility that the Shibai Otsutsuki remains Amado had come across in the past might have been his Thorn Soul Bulb. That is how he extracted the Otsutsuki God's Chakra to create all his cyborgs.

This theory is also backed up by how Delta's drone seemingly worked. As evident from the manga's chapter 34, after returning to Amado's research lab, the drone landed on a device that seemingly transferred Delta's consciousness to one of her other clones.

This meant that the drone essentially carried data on Delta's persona. This was very similar to how a Thorn Soul Bulb seemingly worked as the entity carried data on a person's chakra signature and replicated the same on a Claw Grime.

As for Kashin Koji, he was one of Amado's early cyborgs. Therefore, he may have witnessed him working with Shibai's Thorn Soul Bulb. This could be the reason why he was the only person who could confirm what they looked like.

This evidence is also backed up by the fact that Code knew he could create Claw Grimes after his limiter was removed. There was no chance that the antagonist could have deduced his ability to create an army for himself had he not done the same in the past. Thus, there is a possibility that Amado may have experimented with Code and created Claw Grimes in the past. But after witnessing the possible disaster, he may have put a limiter on the cyborg to stop all such activities.

This theory also answers why Eida found part of Amado's past quite shady. Upon looking into the same, the cyborg might have realized the extent to which Amado had delved into his research to resurrect his daughter Akebi Sanzu.
