A Jujutsu Kaisen sequel might be on the horizon, and fans of the series are eager for what comes next. Only two chapters left until the manga's conclusion, so speculation is at an all-time high. Sukuna, the King of the Curses, has recently been defeated at the hands of Yuji Itadori, and Megumi's soul has finally been freed from Sukuna's control.

This marks a turning point that has been the subject of heated discussions among fans as everyone wants to know what the future holds for the characters and the Jujutsu world.

Fan support and appetite for more adventures have been pretty high suggesting that a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel may not be far-fetched. As the storyline is nearing its ending, this alone should be proof enough that the series will propel into a new chapter.

The real reason why the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel may already be set for release

A Jujutsu Kaisen sequel may have already been scheduled for release because of the demand and several plotlines still left unaddressed. Recent events within the manga, such as Sukuna's defeat, make the readers unsatisfied and hungry for more, as many plot points are still not fully covered in the story.

One major plotline is the Culling Game, which technically hasn't concluded. The game, introduced in the previous arc, still holds significant weight in the story. Major rules, such as Rule No. 14, state that the game will only end upon the death of all players except Geto and Megumi.

This creates a situation where regardless of Sukuna’s defeat, the game persists. In chapter 220, Kogane's inclination to continue the Culling Game ensures, the remaining two chapters won’t provide closure.

Furthermore, Megumi's involvement in the Merger and the Purification Barrier also raises more questions than answers. As confirmed in the latest chapter 269, Megumi's state is still unstable, suggesting that his connection to the Merger could have been further plunged. These loose ends with fan anticipation suggest a messy ending for this story at the climax of the final chapters.

The continuous fan support and high demand make it more likely for Gege Akutami to explore these plot holes in a potential Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, rather than leaving them unresolved.

Final thoughts

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is almost coming to an end, and the fans have been in a fever of eagerness and hype for what comes next. Though Sukuna has been defeated, and along with him, Megumi's liberation, many major plotlines remain thus far unsealed, leaving readers wanting to see more.

The Culling Game is still ongoing, and Megumi's association with the mysterious Merger raises so many questions that will remain unsolved within the remaining two chapters. With strong fan demand and many plot holes, it’s possible that a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel may already be in the works.
